Alimentum / Nutrimagen switch

Over the last 4-5 days we've been trying to make the switch from Alimentum to Similac Advance Organic. Converting little by little each day and yesterday was his second full day on it. He has become pretty constipated with the switch- used to be daily and now is every other day, straining hard and turning red/ purple to poop (he never did that before), his new poop is very thick like play doh almost, also his eczema seems a lot worse. Just curious if anyone has been successful making the switch to another formula and what you use. Thanks!

    We were never successful in switching DS off Alimentum until he was over a year and we went straight to whole milk.  He could handle some milk products (cheese, yogurt) prior to that but other formula always brought back the allergy symptoms which doesn't really seem like what your LO is going through.

    I do have a friend whose daughter has some milk protein intolerance and has had good luck with Similar Sensitive.

    I'm going to give it a go with some Similac Sensitive combined with Total Comfort. If this doesn't work I'll just stick with the Alimentum for a while longer.

    I tried switching my LO various times from Alimentum to other formulas and never succeeded:( She had some of the same symptoms you just described. I wound up just staying with the Alimentum. Sorry I wasn't much help, but I wanted to share that I went through something similar with no success.
