I'm taking Zantac. It's a life saver. Other than that - tums? Drink a little milk to help with the burning? Don't lie down? Sorry, I know how miserable it can be.
When I was briefly in the hospital they gave me mylanta. I think it was totally regular mylanta.
I've also been taking tums and sleeping in a sitting position using my snoogle pillow thing for support. It's really painful, though! One of the joys I guess.
Tums and green tea really help me. There's a kind of Lipton green tea with peach and white mangosteen that's really good if your not a plain green tea kinda person.
I took Protonix with DS and I need to ask my midwife what she recommends this time. I've been sleeping in a sitting position as well. Tums doesn't help much anymore even for immediate relief. I wake up every night choking on bile.
Completely understand! The only thing safe here is Gavascon and its $12/bottle...doesn't last long when you are drinking it like water (and yes, it only dulls the pain)

They have me mylanta in the hospital too. It seems to help me so much more than popping tums. I take Zantac and the a dose of mylanta when it gets really bad.

Learned this from our Bradley Method Instructor: Papaya Enzyme Chewables.. Taste delicious, you can eat alot of them, and there arent any negative side effects (to you or baby)!
I agree with all the PP. I have also heard that eating oatmeal in the morning can help - tried for the first time today and Heartburn is definitely calmer!
As its summer I'm having plenty of ice cream as well (though winter would not stop me!)... it actually helps and provides me a convenient excuse!
