DD has the Playtex straw cup and Avent sippy but doesn't take anything but water out of them. Since she's almost a year and since I'm starting my Practicum for grad school I will be giving her WCM or almond milk in a sippy more frequently (or at least hope to).
She doesn't take bottles too often anymore (mainly just nurses) but I wondered if anyone had suggestions for a good transition cup? A friend of mine recommended the Nuby sippy and I was looking at this one:

Any suggestions?
We have those Nuby cups and DS likes them sorta. He has always had a hard time tipping his cups up. He still can't figure it out so the only way he will use them is if he's tipped back a little bit (like on the arm of the couch). We really like straw cups around here and that's what we mainly use. We had the Playtex trainer but I don't like how it spills so we use Munchkin Click Lock Flip Straw Cup https://www.amazon.com/Munchkin-Click-Count-Straw-ounce/dp/B006Y3S838/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1389934572&sr=8-4&keywords=munchkin+straw+cup and I'm thinking about picking up the Nuby straw cups. We need more than 2 sippys around here.
We use these. I like them because they don't have straws or valves or other small parts that you can't just stick in the dishwasher. I didn't like the ones you posted because I felt like in between the slits in the top didn't get clean unless I stuck a pipe cleaner or something in there myself.
DD has a hard time with sippys and the only one she will take is the Nuk soft spout. It's a miracle because she loves them and they never leak. They are similar to a bottle so the transition is way easier than going to a regular hard sippy.
As a speech therapist I recommend taking your child off a sippy type cup sooner rather than later. They should really be using a straw cup or open cup bc sippy cups are not good for speech development. This is a great article that explains it all.

We have the Nuby ones you linked. They're fine. I prefer these Nuk ones-

If your LO isn't totally in love with a sippy yet, this Playtex one worked well for to start with

We use the playtex straw cup but for water only bc the liquid leaks from the top of the straw. When we start milk, we will have to find another cup.
