Oh boy. Don't get me started on all the Sherman haters. How in the world can you take that interview and then judge him for it? Hello! He just won the game and had had to listen to Crabtree talk shit about him every opportunity he got...but that wasn't classless and was ok, no big deal. Adrenaline had so much to do with that interview, and honestly, he was pretty much baited into that. Of course Fox was hoping he'd give an interview like that otherwise they would have waited to speak to him. You don't interview a guy like that immediately following a game winning play and expect a calm and collected interview.

What is truly classless and trashy is the way people are judging and classifying him. He graduated 2nd in his class, he is the first person from Compton to go to Stanford, he spent Christmas day handing out gifts to under privileged families in Seattle, in a single event his foundation gave to 2000 families in need, he spends countless hours at Seattle Chilidren's Hospital, he answers his own fan mail, he took the summer and devoted it to the 12th Man Tour (traveled the state and let his fans know how much he appreciates us. I got to meet him, Brandon Browner and Doug Baldwin). If that isn't a class act, I don't know what is.

So, nation, continue calling him an uneducated, thug. He's the best at his position and backs up his talk game after game.

I know nothing about him other than the interview I saw. It sounds like he is an upstanding person but that interview was a bit ridiculous. You can express your excitement about a game winning play and about going to the Superbowl without being outrageous.

Peyton Manning, for example, has had the most incredible season that a quarterback has ever had and yesterday was no exception. After facing a season of experts saying that he and the Broncos are overrated, he shut them up by letting his playing do the talking, not by running his mouth. There are ways to get your excitement and enthusiasm across without being obnoxious.

Like I know nothing about him other than what I saw yesterday. Good for him for using his celebrity status to help better his community, but he could have gone about that interview a little differently, that's all.

I could care less about the interview.. What irked my nerves was the choking gesture he gave on the field. There is no reason for that kind of crap in the NFL you are supposed to be paid professionals. Grow up and act like it.

He is a cornerback, not quarterback. The nature of THAT position is to talk trash and get into the heads of the offense (obviously it worked. What did Vernon Davis, Frank Gore and Michael Crabtree do? Nothing. Kaepernick did well until he was intercepted and his head was taken out of the game). That is part of the art. Deion Sanders, defensive end, hall of famer, one of the greats. Rodney Harrison, future hall of famer, defensive back, one of the highest fined players, but also one of the greats. All of these players are known for talking trash, hitting hard and not apologizing for it, because they are GREAT. They are/were paid to play hard for 60 minutes whether they are on the field or off. It's a game, it's the nature of a defensive player. If you watch any game you will see the defense in the face of the offense, making crude gestures and giving it their all.

As for the comment about him making the choking gesture. Did you not notice the 49er player (I think it was Davis, maybe Crabtree..can't remember) make the gesture towards the crowd as in to hush it? How is that different? How is it different from a linebacker sacking the qb and doing a dance or gesture? A receiver scoring and doing a dance? Those are all unique to the position and part of the game. What are they all supposed to behave gentlemanly while playing a barbaric sport? I mean, they can barely hit without getting penalized or fined, so I guess it would make sense that people expect them not to show emotion other than cheering on their opponent.

To compare a cornerback and a quarterback is like comparing apples to oranges. Different personalities are required for different positions.

Again, what do you expect from a CB during a high rivalry game that decides the Super Bowl? Had they interviewed Michael Crabtree directly after the game I am sure that he would have given an equally cringe worthy interview, but it would have been justified because he lost.

I also think talking down towards someones character and stereotyping them because of one interview or where they happened to be raised is wrong. Yeah I dont care about either team and was routing for the Seahawks. Those gestures are just uncalled for. I don't care what you are trying to get aross. A choking gesture is a threat. Just as if you were to hold your fingers out immitating a gun. Don't do it. Show your team some respect an represent it better than that.

@Tdonatoni Thanks. I live for sports. My H tells me that it is the thing that he loves most about me at the same time he hates it. But he's a Pats fan, poor guy.

I think calling a choking gesture a threat is taking it too far. He was gesturing that they were choking under pressure. He wasn't stomping on someone after he tackled him (Ndamukong Suh) or saying he was going to choke someone. Football isn't a politically correct sport...it's not golf.

Football is a testosterone-loaded contact sport, where emotions run high, shit is talked on and off the field, and these players want nothing more than to make big plays, win games, and shut up the haters. I am so excited for this Super Bowl and think both teams are very deserving of it. The two best teams in the nation this year are facing off in what will be an amazing showdown.

Richard Sherman did and said exactly what he felt and believed to be true, and I think it's great. I'm so sick of seeing these players give these interviews that their publicists have fed to them. It's refreshing to me to see a player say exactly what is on his mind. Right now, Sherman is the best CB in the league, so for Crabtree and everyone else to try and discredit him is silly on their end. This team tucked away in the quiet PNW has been overlooked for years, and the players and fans are sick of it. We're coming out guns blazing now, but we've got the walk to back up our talk! So it's all good!

Haters gonna hate! He Apologized for his behavior in the interview and if anybody watched his interview on the podium he was cool, calm and collected. He had a lot of adrenalin going from just getting his team to the Super Bowl. Crabtree has been talking smack for some time now and deserved to be put in his place. Everybody is always hating on the Seahawks, as soon as one play slips it's like the world ends and no other players an do no wrong. Get over it.
