So my lil guy is here! Jan 15, 8:42 am. I posted a whole week ago that I was in labor and now I get to tell all about it!

Monday night I was at work, about to leave because I wasn't feeling too great. I had just gotten off the phone with DH tellin him as much, and headed out the door when my water broke! Called the midwife and she told me to stay home until morning unless my contractions got too close together or other emergency things, but that I needed to be in the hospital in 12 hrs for sure. So DH and I went home, ate, slept, and he went to the grocery for snacks.

FFD to the hospital. I was admitted tues morning but was still having light, random contractions. I kept waiting for the big ones but they never came. That evening they put me on pitocin. DH was a lil freaked because he went on google, but I told him they were just going to use it to jump start me. It'd be more dangerous not tohave it because my water had broken a whole day before.

2am the contractions really let loose. They actually took me off the pitocin because I was when she turned it down there was no change in my intensity. They actually were getting closer without it to the point where I went from 5cm to 9cm in a really short span of time. And not having the IV attached meant I could shower on the birthing ball, which were 2 things that really helped. Once I got to 9 they let me get in the birthing tub, and things really zoomed! I was in there 40 min and out came my baby! He wasn't breathing right away so they had to cut his cord almost immediately, unlike after 15 min as we hoped.

FFD to Friday. Kavi wasn't pooping well and had jaundice. Had to leave without him. DH was a mess because he watched them take blood and knew how he would cry and we wouldn't be there. They convinced us to go home for the night and come back. His levels finally got low Sunday morning and we got to bring him home! I'm glossing over this whole nicu part because it was really hard for us and I still can't see how to put it in words. I met a woman whose baby was going on week 3. Some of you here have gone longer. I commend you. The hurt and the emotions are strong. I only had a couple of days and I couldn't bear it.

He's home now and quite the angel. I'm pumping until I can reintroduce direct feeding and he eats just like his dad. I love him so much.
