Just curious. Who here is cloth diapering? What is your favorite style/brand? Why do you like that brand and/or CD? Who is doing disposables? What is your favorite brand and why?
I am cloth diapering. I do prefolds with Flip covers. I like the simplicity and ease of the prefolds with covers. I love CDing! It is super easy and I love how much money we are saving. I also like that since we started CD L's bum is less red (she has sensitive skin like her mom and the disposables made her bottom really red. No rash though).
We sort of alternate between disposables and cloth. We just use the Kirkland (Costco store brand) sposies and then mostly Charlie Banana pockets for cloth, though I have five BG Freetimes and I love love love them.
Six years of infertility and loss, four IUIs, one IVF and one very awesome little boy born via med-free birth 10.24.13.
We're doing disposables. I had wanted to CD but our DCP doesn't allow it and I didn't care to deal with both.
We prefer Luvs. We tried Pampers, Huggies, Up & Up, and Kirkland but he had frequent poop blowouts with all if them. Luvs have kept the excrement explosions to a minimum.

When we were doing disposables (the first month) we used the Kirkland brand diapers as well. I liked how they fit L. For being as big as she was (she was 10lbs. 9oz at 3 1/2 weeks) she is built kind of long and skinny.
We use a service called Tiny Tots for cloth diapering. It's the same cost as buying disposables and they pick up the dirty diapers and wash them for you. We like the Thirsties covers but have several other kinds as well. I think LO has less rash problems in cloth. We still use disposables when going on trips or know we will be away from the house for long periods of time.
Pampers Swaddlers for us...we tried Huggies, too, but they just did not fit our LO and after the first two we used leaked all over, we learned our lesson. LO's legs are very chubby and I felt like the Huggies were cut kind of skimpy or something and did not fit well.
Interestingly, literally ALL the moms of boys I know swear by Pampers, and girls' moms like Huggies. Don't know if that's just in my group of friends or what
DS cant use huggies. He pees out of them every time. We only use papmers
We use Huggies and Pampers (still going through diaper cakes and shower gifts, so its whatever package is next on the shelf). Have had the same results with both. Although I would add if you are going to use disposable, get the ones with the leak indicator. I don't know why they still make them without that indicator at all but I have some.
We are using disposables and are still working our way through packages that were given to us at our shower (awesome!). We figured we would just use them and if she had a reaction, we wouldn't use that kind again/discontinue use. We have used whatever Dollar General's brand is, Huggies, Pampers and Luvs. Even though Luvs are cheap, we actually prefer them...they just seem to fit LO better!
We're using cloth at home and disposables when we're out. I like the Kawaii brand pockets the best, but we also use a lot of Best Bottoms and prefolds and covers. We also have Alva but I think they're too big.
I was using prefolds and covers with M at first when the pockets were still too big. Now we use a mix of both, mainly pockets and prefolds when I'm trying to air out her cuca. I use Kawaii, Alvas, Sunbaby pockets. I have Fuzzibuns, but I bought them used and the elastic isn't tight enough for her teeny legs yet. I have Best Bottoms but they still seem too big for her overall. I also have Flips and I haven't even really looked at them yet. I bought a shit ton of diapers, for some reason I was convinced I didn't have nearly enough... I really have wayyyy more than I need. lol
We tried CD but our daycare won't use them and DH hates them. We're still working on selling them since they haven't even been used. We have found that huggies snugglers work best for us. R has skinny legs so that is probably why they fit so well.

We use disposables. We used all the ones from the shower which were a variety of brands. We've settled on luvs. They fit well and haven't had any blowouts yet. Plus they are reasonably priced. We got a great deal last week at toys r us.
Pampers Swaddlers. Huggies are ok too but I like the fit of pampers better. Huggies also have Winnie the Pooh on them and I really dislike him for some reason.
Luvs were scratchy and leaky.
Hi, I'm Michelle and I'm a cloth diaper addict. We started with a newborn stash of RaR Lil Joeys and Kissaluvs, along with Blueberry Simplex newborns. We loved the Lil Joeys and Simplex newborns. He still fits in the Simplex, but now that he's 14 lbs we are using lots of OS diapers too. I have at about 40 OS diapers- BG 4.0s, BG Elementals, Charlie Banana, RaR, Lotus Bumz (rebranded Alvas), Kawaii and Blueberry Simplex. I honestly like them all except the Lotus Bumz. I just bought our first fitteds (Sbish OBFs) and covers since he needs something more for overnight.
I have been eyeing the Twinkie Tush diapers and they are adorable with great reviews. Anyone with a little girl in cloth should check them out- they have a ton of adorable girl prints. My wallet is going to have a problem if our next LO is a girl, because while there are some cute diapers for little boys there are tons and tons of cute diapers for little girls.
I feel ya @amberrrjade. That's why I haven't pulled the trigger and bought one yet. But I'm sure if I find one I'm dying to have I'll find a way to justify it.
CDing...I use green mountain pre-folds with mainly Thirsties covers at home, and kawaii pockets for overnights. We do use 'sposies for travel, but I don't have a favorite brand. Love my CDs!
We are like the same person! Except we also use and love the GMD work horses!
I was planning to CD, but it was a bit stressful for me and I honestly just needed easy. I'm now using Honest diapers and love them! No rashes whatsoever!
I use pampers swaddlers at night and use targets up & up and huggies for the day. All seem to work fine on my chunker. Our huggies used to blow out when O was at the minimum weight but now that he's in the middle of the weight limit for the size 2 (15lbs), they're working great.
I'm liking targets more and more due to the price though.
We're in cloth now. Using prefolds and GMD workhorses (fitted). DH loves the fitteds because they're easy to put on, I love the prefolds because I can fold them perfectly to catch all of her massive would-be-blowout poops!
For covers I love my RaR and Blueberry. I'm still in NB/size 1 - I'm excited for my OS to fit, I've got some I'm looking forward to.
We did use disposables the first week, and a few times when we were out. I tried Pampers and Seventh Generation. They were fine, but I definitely prefer cloth now!

@SamanthaPo I've been curious about the workhorses. Can you tell me why you love them and when you use them? I loooove GMDs
@ Dapostrophe We have them in our daytime stash. LO is beginning to sleep long stretches and they aren't always enough. They are easy to use. We have the ones with snaps and they are trim like the prefolds, but they are easier especially when she is wiggly. Also for us, they have lasted a lot longer size wise.
I use both. I use Swaddlers at night just because science is amazing and they hold a ridiculous amount. I change him if he's stinky but not usually if he's just wet.
I use BumGenius 3.0s during the day. I used them with DD2 and basically thought they were the greatest diaper in the world...unfortunately this LO is a heavy wetter. =( They're decent but I sometimes get a little leakage even though I change him often. I didn't have that issue with DD. We are at home for 98% of the time though so it's not the biggest deal. He'll get plenty use out of all his clothes at least!
I like Pampers Swaddlers bc they have that sweet, powdery smell. At the mo, Im working through a Costco box of Huggies. Theyre ok; they work really well and seem absorbant when its just urine, but she sometimes has blow outs otherwise. These have Mickey and Minnie on them, no Winnie the Pooh.
Disposables. We've mainly been using Pampers Saddlers, but used Huggies and some other store brands that were given to us. We've had leaks at one point with all of them but I like Pampers the best and they seem to fit DS the best as well.

You may need to replace the microfiber inserts if you used them for a long time. I'm pretty sure they reduce in absorbency as they age. You could always grab flats or prefolds to stuff in them. I'd also check the legs. The elastic might be stretched out. I know I'm going to need to replace the elastic on my 4.0 diapers when I start using them on my son. I've had some of mine in rotation for 2 years.
Disposables, we got a lot of diapers at our shower so we're still using different brands, but I noticed huggies run a little small so when we transition to a new size (we're already on 2's) we use huggies first then pampers and up&up. I think DH and I prefer pampers over all, I think it masks the urine smell better. When I'm changing her diaper, sometimes the wet diapers smell worse than poo diapers for me.
We cloth diaper, my sister gave me all of hers because her 2 yo is potty trained! I also have bought a few as well. My favorites are softbums (especially with the bamboo pods) and BG 4.0s. I also use prefolds and covers (thirsties duo are my fav) and they work really well at containing messes and are very simple to wash! The only blowout we have had is with a newborn sized bumgenius AIO and only because he is getting too big for them! I love cloth! :-)
Prefolds from a diaper service (soooo convenient!) combined with Thirsties snap covers. Love them, though right now I'm practicing my diaper origami so as to contain her newly huge poopfests. (She went from doing little poops all day to saving them up!)

We are cloth 90% of the time, we use disposables when away for extended periods. Right now my favorites are prefolds and covers and Thirsties duo pocket. I have fuzzibuns- my least favorite, bum genius - 2nd least fav, and Kawaii. I am ordering some additional diapers to try since she is outgrowning her NB prefolds and getting ready for daycare. I want to use pockets for daycare to keep it easy so they will give it a shot because we only have rashes in disposables.

I have some Pure and Naturals, but they aren't my favorite. He just started firing into the Oh Katy one size.
I also have FuzziBunz which I now love the fit on my daughter who is two. But I ditched the minky inserts and now use bamboo fleece.
