New mom survival kit

I'm going to a baby shower in a month and the theme is..... shoes.  We were all asked to bring a pair or a few pairs of shoes in different sizes.  I'm going to refrain from judging the theme and uselessness of 20-30 pairs of shoes for a baby, even if they are different sizes.

BUT I'm planning to also put together a "New Mom Survival Kit" for the first few weeks after birth.  Some ideas I already have are: dry shampoo, large water bottle, breast pads, nursing tank top, lanolin, kleenex, hair bands, chap stick, sanitizer.  What else can you think of?

Maybe ibuprofen for pain, chocolate (or a healthier snack), lotion, Mother's Milk tea if she plans to breastfeed
  • An afterthought: if your friend has pets, offer to take something home to the fur family before they leave from the hospital. Scent acquisition is a good way to help animals transition to a new presence in the home.

    Dermoplast, FTW!

Damn, I was going to say that! Definitely Dermoplast!
  • Epsom salts, Advil and Tylenol. This is a good idea. We had everything ready for baby months beforehand, but I had no idea how much I would need. I kept sending my husband out for stuff!
  • A bottle if she doesn't want to bf.
  • It's hard to believe this was just a few months ago for all of us.  I remember thinking that I was never going to feel normal again!

  • Overnight pads, lactation cookies or the recipe, Motrin, gift card to local take out or McDonalds
