  I think it's a phase of the moon with in laws right now. Good luck! Ours is 18 mos, and we are going to switch her around her 2nd birthday because she's incredibly long-legged and starting to fuss bc she's out of room. But I hate that we are doing it that early! (And I drive a Volvo, for goodness sake!)

  This.  I've learned to let a lot of comments go with family.  Honestly, sending them information or articles would only get me more angry and turn into more of an argument with them. I'd get comments on how ridiculous the article was or how "of course you can find anything on the internet these days on why you should do xyz".  \

  I know it's hard but if I just continued to be calm and just ignore their comments, eventually they stop.

  Agreed - I used to justify every decision I made as a mom, because it seems there's always someone who will disagree with just about every choice you make.  But it didn't really make a difference in most cases.  And I'm talking "here's some peer-reviewed scientific literature!" justification.  I don't bother anymore.  Recently we were asked why we don't let LO watch TV.  DH started to mention recommendations of the AAP etc., and I cut him off and said "because we don't want him to."  Someone pressed me, "So you have no reason?"  And I just said "Nope!" and moved on to another conversation.  

  
  

  But just maybe MIL will READ the article you pass along and learn something new!

  This. Show her crash test videos and explain internal decapitation to her. If she has any sense at all, she will shut up and quit bothering you. Good luck!
