Pregnant after IF

EmbarASSed

Yes, emphasis on the ass. OMG so embarassing! Last night, DH and I were catching up on sons of anarchy and after sitting for so long I started to get uncomfortable. So I stood up, and in anticipation of a cough (stupid lingering cough!) I guess I let go of my gas control and a squeaker of a fart came out!! He paused the TV and said, "Did you just fart?!?"
DH and I have been together for 12 years and I've never farted in front of him (well except what happens behind the bathroom door lol) and he does it ALL the time. He was so excited, he jumped up and hugged me and requested I do it the rest of the night. He told me it was a turn on. Ew! Hahaha
OK I'm being dramatic. It could be a lot worse...like in front of my class or coworkers or strangers!! Just thought I'd share with my favorite pregnant ladies. :)

Re: EmbarASSed

  • Ha ha!  That's hilarious that he paused the tv and loved it!  I have definitely let a few accidentally slip out in front of DH, and it's mortifying.  He doesn't seem to care and just smiles.  If this makes you feel better, I was peeing in my pants a little when I was having huge coughing fits while I had the flu!  It was really embarrassing!  I had to start wearing pantiliners just in case until the cough was gone.  Yikes!  I 'fessed up to DH, because I was terrified I would completely let my entire bladder loose in front of him (which thankfully never happened).

    Me: 42. DH: 46.

  • I can totally understand where you're coming from.  I've been with my DH for 6 years, and never have, either.  He's asked me why several times, and I tell him that IF a lady does have to pass gas, she does it in the bathroom, where she passes everything else.  LOL.
@tryingyetagain - I do have a pregnancy symptom, though, where coughing makes me puke.  So, a few weeks ago, I was coughing and ran into the kitchen, started throwing up in the garbage can (while coughing), and I guess it was too much for my poor body because I peed my pants, LOL!  Not something a liner would catch, either.  My DH and 18 yo stepson were there, and they were both too kind to make fun of me.  They know how ladylike I always try to be.  :)

I totally did all of that on Thursday.  Cough-->puke-->pee.  Not my finest moment.  I was glad I was at home in PJs and not at work.

  • I'm in disbelief that you've never farted in front of your husband in 12 years!  You must have amazing control.

    Seriously! Bravo girl!! :)

  • @tryingyetagain, ahh! I'm waiting for that wonderful symptom! I did wet my pants once when I sat down on the toilet to pee and realized I had forgotten to pull my underwear down. Nice!
@ball.and.chain, I blame it on will power! Just wish I had the same will power when it comes to food!
    @auntjessy, OMG that sounds horrible!!
@ld08271, I don't understand myself -- I've burped millions of times, had the flu, shown all shades of crazy, pushed out a baby (with episiotomy that dh happened to accidentally witness) and I still can't bring myself to pass a little gas his way!!

    Ahh pregnancy beauty!

I swear I'm going to have gas control issues when I'm older because my muscles will be overused!

  • you have some serious self-control!  DH and I must just be more open about bodily functions...he finds it hilarious every time I cough or sneeze and get mad at myself for peeing a little (especially if I had just gone to the bathroom!).  He says that the gas and burps and uncontrollable bladder are all for a good cause!

@mmschu, we just finished season 5. (Um, wtf is up with the tongue?!?!) and I'm pretty sure I can't handle season 6 in my pregnant state, so I'm going to wait until closer to my due date and hope it induces labor ;)
