Nasty moldy aspirator

I just saw some article on FB about nose aspirators collecting mold like in the pic below. Disgusting! I don't know how true this is but supposedly the person even cleaned it out with hot water as recommended. Maybe they left it on the ball side to dry? IDK. I'm just glad we converted to the nose frida. That being said it has me thinking about bath toys and other toys with holes. Especially bath toys, though. Ben loooooves putting those things in his mouth and while I try to keep them squeezed out and washed I'm fearful of the crap that could be growing in there. Anyone know of any solutions to this? I though I had read somewhere about plugging up those holes but not sure what would be best to use. Thoughts?

    When I saw this (and another article about mold in bath toys), I chunked every bath toy with holes we had.  Haha.  But I've heard the hot glue suggestion works well!

    I saw this too like an hour ago on fb. yuck!! 

    If you really want to clean something like that- soak it in a mixture of hot water and bleach. That's what I do with all bath toys every week.

    This is what I just did after seeing the op. I threw them all out. And ordered bath toys from amazon that do not have any holes. So unbelievably gross!
