NBR who's working today?

My company never give holidays like today off. It stinks and this is another reason I am going to try to switch after the LO is born. On the bright side I'll probably be able to bump from work today! Anyone else working or have school today?

    Our work has a list of extra holidays you can pick from to have off and our a/s just happened to be today so I picked this one to have off. Otherwise I'd be working too!

    Had class til 11:00 last night and had to get up at 5:30 for work today!

    Wishing I had thought ahead to take the day off!

    I'm a SAHM now, so holidays are only holidays when DH is home to help.  :)  He's working today, so no break for me.  I was a teacher before and some years we had this day off, and other years we didn't.  I just depended on how they put the calendar together...

    Sorry I do have off, teacher here.  BUT I do know how it is not to have holiday's off.  When I worked at the animal hospital we did not have many holidays off and we had to alternate working some of them by ourselves even if the hospital was closed so we could take care of the animals that were at the hospital.  I was at the job for over 12 yrs so I completely understand how you feel.

    I'm Canadian. We don't get a holiday in January, other than New Years. Business as usual.

    Working here ! Maybe everyone will thing we're closed and I can get a bunch of stuff done. Its end of the month next week and I need all the time to prepare!

    Normally I would have the day off but my work was nice enough to allow me to work so I could take Friday off instead for my a/s scan.  I'm trying to save as much vacation and sick time as possible for maternity leave...

    I have it off. one perk of working for a government ran facility. I get 14 paid holidays off a year! Yay!

    Raises hand!  Super busy too so it wouldn't much matter if we had the Holiday.   Our next holiday is Memorial Day!

    Ditto, I only get 6 paid holidays per year:  New Years Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day.  This stretch between New Years and Memorial Day SUCKS.

    It's a staff development day, but I'm working from home. It's nice because I'm just working on a report today and putting IEPs in the computer. Easy peasy.

    i work from home so basically there is never a day off, even weekends. but, i don't mind it much because i get so much flexibility otherwise. like, nobody is going to stop me from making a wlamart run at 2 pm. i just didn't want to sound ungrateful by my response.
