first veggie?

what did you give your LO as their first veggie? I was already to start with peas as the first one and then go to other greeens but pedi said start with yellow as in carrots or squash. when i asked her about it she said its not an exact science. also for those of you who make your own, anyone use a rice cooker? I have one I never use so i would like to use it for baby food but i'm not really sure how

I started with peas. Squash is one of DD's favorite veggies though.

We started w/squash. I can't wait to see posts about the rice cooker though because we have one and I NEVER use it - I'd love to use it for baby food!

What does a rice cooker do? Stem veggies that you mash up? I have a baby food processor that I have used a few times.

We started DS off with sweet potatoes. He seems to think they're just okay. His second food was avocado, which he LOVES.

her first veggie was squash but we started with banana to begin with.

I've used our rice cooker as a steamer to steam certain things and then mash. I dont steam everything as certain things are supposed to be better or easier baked. check out wholesomebabyfood.com
