How many meals does LO eat well?

Within the last few weeks dd has decided that breakfast is for the birds and barely eats anything. She used to eat an egg with cheese and a fruit pouch every morning! She also will no longer eat any pouches or fruit for that matter. Anyone else experience less of an appetite since turning one?

Re: How many meals does LO eat well?

  • DD ate more than most older kids I know until about a week ago.  Her appetite has definitely decreased a bit but I think she also just finished with a growth spurt.  She hasn't eaten purees in months.  I will spoon feed DD yogurt, but other than that she prefers finger foods.

  • DD does well for breakfast and lunch. She gets an afternoon snack at daycare so sometimes she doesn't eat very much at dinner. She has WCM with breakfast and lunch, and water with dinner. Then a 4-5 oz bottle at bedtime, and here lately she eats in the MOTN too. She has tummy issues digesting the milk at night, so her pedi advised we finish up the formula we have on hand, and then try the Enfagrow. Hopefully she'll grow out of the tummy problems.

  • DS will eat as many meals as I will give him. Lol! Breakfast, lunch, dinner, 3 -4oz otters throughout the day, plus up to 8oz of water with meals and he nurses when he wakes up for the day. Kid loves to eat!

  • Breakfast, but barely. She doesn't eat!!
Our little Samosa arrives in January!
  • DD has a muffin and fruit every morning. A vegetable & cheese egg casserole thing every day with either more fruit or a side of avocado or carrot. Both the muffin & egg things I make in advance and pull from the freezer the night before so it's easy for our yaya to feed her.
  • Mine has been eating barely anything for breakfast and has been refusing the pouches.  I learned from our daycare provider (who she still takes pouches from) that she has been doing the pouches while playing so she is distracted.  I tried it this weekend and it worked!  I just fed her her meal and then took the leftover pouch and brought it with us to play and she would periodically stop and have some.  I like her to get a pouch or two in during the day because she is really hit or miss with solid fruit and vegetables.

  • DS eats less at lunch than he used to but solely self feeds for breakfast and lunch (except for oatmeal and we're currently working on teaching him to his a spoon) but for dinner he still gets spoon fed because he is always overtired at the time and would have a melt-down if he tried to feed himself.
