Anyone still dealing with clogged tear ducts?

DS has clogged ducts in both eyes and his right eye seems to be getting worse. At his 4mo well check pedi said this spring or summer she'd give a referral to the eye doc if they haven't cleared up. A friend of mine didn't take her daughter in until she was 2 to get her duct probed, and they had to put her under to do it. I feel bad for DS, and I'll be glad when I don't have to constantly clean his eyes.

  • I just noticed our LO's seems to be better, it's been affecting her for a few months but these last couple of days her eye has improved a lot!

  • I'd love for it to disappear overnight! Thanks for the hope :)

  • Yup we have one eye that's routinely gunky... Hoping it clears up soon
  • Our LO has had one eye clear up but his left still gets clogged. I use a warm washcloth on it as often as I can while BFing and each day it's a little better. Hopefully it will work itself out soon!

  • YES!!! It's so bad, her eyelid is even swollen and the skin around her eye is very chapped from constantly wiping her eyes. The little massages and warm compresses are not making it any better at all.

If you are breastfeeding, put a couple drops of your breast milk in the eye. This will help with infection and healing. I would make sure to dab using a clean cloth or tissue and never to rub. Also, massaging the duct helps get the goop out so you don't have to wipe as often.
