Since Nova is permanently attached to my boob- I thought I'd jot this down really quick. Sorry, no GIFs this time! I'm posting via phone.
DH and I checked into the hospital at 8am and by 8:30 my water had been broken (it did not take much) and they started me on pitocin. I was doing pretty well for about two hours when I asked for something to take the edge off. I forget what it was called but it knocked me out for fifteen glorious minutes... Then promptly wore off. I decided to suck it up until 1230 and, even if I had wanted meds or an epideral, it was far too late. Not to mention I couldn't even string together a coherent sentence.
DH was amazing, he rubbed my back or legs right up until a contraction hit and he would promptly the hell off. Btw for those who are still worried about pooping on the table.... No one, not even you is gonna care. H called in the doctor to tell him the baby was coming (he's a natural at reading labor signs) and, for 17 minutes, H and my wonderful nurse held my legs for me and, much to everyone's surprise, out came Nova. She looked every bit as shocked as everyone else! DH DID catch her and cut her cord after it finished pulsing- delayed cord clamping was the only thing on my ' birth plan'. Due to being so big (almost 9 pounds!) and coming down the birth canal so fast, poor Nova has bruises on her face

. I ended up bruised, swollen, and got stitches. She also has a full head of hair and the biggest blue eyes

. She also nurses like a champ- I had been terrified that she wouldn't take to the breast and I'd have formula as my only option- I prefer to have a choice in the matter.
We're got released exactly 24 hours after birth and DH actually drove the speed limit (collective gasp) made it all hit home. Thank you everyone for the well wishes, I can't wait until all of our Jan14 babies are here safety!
