How many of these night time swaddle things to you need? How long do babies need them? I'm just curious because the Babies R Us near me is going out of business and they are pretty cheap.

To be honest only get a few. I know they say swaddling is great for infants and it makes them feel safe, but in our breastfeeding class they said swaddling a baby will actually make miss all the feeding cues your baby gives you because they are strapped in. And by the time you realize they are hungry they are crying and screaming. I still bought a few though but probably won't use them for a long time.

I would just grab a couple... that was plenty for our my boys. And its not like an outfit that you have to wash after every time the baby wears it.

Okay thanks! So maybe 2 for 0-3, 2 for 3-6, etc?

We actually did not swaddle after the boys were a couple months old. So if they are that great of a price you could buy them for 3-6 but be prepared that you might not use them.

Don't waste your money on a lot of these gadget type blankets. A few basic thin blankets are great for swaddle and then can be used in the car seat, etc. later.

I would buy a few if they are a great deal. My DD's hated to be swaddled but my DS loves it. We bought a two pack in the small size and then a two pack in a bigger size when he outgrew them. It's a crap shoot though because some kids like them and some don't.

Like other person said you don't need a ton because you aren't washing them everyday unless there is a blowout or something. So for us a two pack was plenty.

Thanks! Ya they were like 70% off.. Along with the left over random stuff that no one really needs. The store will probably offically close this week sometime.

I ended up with maybe 6 swaddling blankets and only used 2 or 3. I guess it all depends on how messy you/ your baby will be and how after you do laundry?
