What would you do? My DS is only on 2 bottles - one before his nap and one about 30 minutes or so before bed at night. I would like to get rid of his afternoon bottle very soon. My MIL watches DS twice a week and even though he doesn't need the bottles - I think she might have a hard time letting go of the bottle. Why? Because she uses that time to cuddle with him. Recently she took one of my bottles in case I ever forgot his bottle when she watches him. Now I'm afriad when I finally says no more afternoon bottle - she will continue to do it behind my back.
Re: Bottles & MIL
I really understand how you feel. I am dealing with this with my FIL. I think it is easier for him to just give her a bottle. When he tries the sippy cup, she barely drinks it, and then he is concerned that she will get dehrydated and not get enough milk.
It is like we are going to transition her when she is ready. But I feel like if she had been a daycare they would have transitioned her faster to a sippy cup or a cup if she was in the toddler room at a daycare.
I am still trying to figure out what to do about it.
Also, we had terrible luck with a sippy cup until we tried a straw one. You may want to try that.
