Knitting ?

Sorry to be a PW but I know a few laides here knit and I'm stuck on a current project. I'm knitting a cowl in the round; I've never knit in the round before and I messed it up. My ends aren't connected and I tried a thing I saw on youtube (I think I slipped a stitch onto the opposite needle and added one?) which connected the whole piece but only for one row. Any suggestions or websites/videos to help would be appreciated. I'd normally call my grandma and ask her for help but her dementia's been getting worse so I don't know if she'll be able to help with it..

    Yeah I think I missed the first step where I would have connected it all. It's my first time using in the round knitting. I am knitting on round needles but it's only connected in a few spots where I tried the thing I saw on youtube. I appreciate your reply and I think you're right that I'll have to sew the parts together. I have a good chunk of it done so I don't want to start over..

    That's ok. At least there's a way to fix it. I'll have to look up some ways to hide the seam when I go to sew it bc I don't want it to be obvious. It's a gift for a friend if it comes out well.
