Hello (again) Ladies!!!

Last night I answered the 'page activity' survey as a lurker and it was my first activity on the BMB since about July. My apologies for becoming MIA. No real excuse other than I got out of the habit of visiting the page and got busy with the babe. For those of you who do remember me, here is the quick and dirty of the past 5 months.

In early July I developed pre-e and spent the last month of my pregnancy in the hospital on strict bed rest. I had no access to internet, so I really lost contact with anything outside the 4 walls of my room. On August 19 my amazing little man Keegan arrived via emerg c-section. We remained in hospital for another week and a bit as we were both a little unwell.

Keegan had a wee bit of a tough go at first. I EBF and it took a long time for him to develop a good latch and his epiglottis never sealed properly so we have been challenged with constant spit up. But he has slowly been packing on the pounds and starting to thrive. I can not believe how much I love being Keegan's mom!

Personally, I did hit a rough patch in late November with the loss of our beloved dog Chilko (my picture). He passed away on nov 28 from cryptococcus (a bacterial infection found in soil). He was really my first baby and his passing brought on some deeply sad feelings that have left me in a funk. But it is getting easier and Keegan really helps me have some perspective on my sadness. But it has been a challenge for me.

Anyhow, that is life is a nutshell. Keegan is going through a crazy wakeful spell that started the day he turned 4 months. He will be 5 months tomorrow and I prey he magically goes back to STTN. I plan an becoming an active poster once again, but will probably do the majority of my posting at night, as I find my days very Keegan-centric. Although once I am back at work in august, you better bet that I will be posting up a storm during the days
