How long should 6 week old nurse?

I have 6 week old twins. I was exclusively pumping because nursing both was really stressing me out. Especially with a 3 year old at home too. I've been slowly adding back in nursing sessions with hopes we'll eventually be able to nurse mostly.

I just nursed one of my girls and she was on for about 15 minutes. I try to burp her and then latch her again. She wouldn't latch again.

Think she was on long enough? When I pump I usually get 6oz from each side in 20 minutes so I guess if she was on for about 15 minutes she probably got enough to eat.

Advice.?

There's really not a magic time - totally could be done in 15 minutes. If she seems satisfied and has good output, she's getting what she needs!

Agree with what the previous posters said, there isn't a specific amount of time, when the baby is done, they let you know by unlatching and refusing the breast. If she's hungry again, she'll let you know that too
