In the last 4 hours, I've squirted a big old glob of milk into Jude's face, changed him twice after watching/feeling pee pour directly out of the side of his diaper onto me, and dropped my iPhone on his head while nursing.

What classic mom "faux pas" have you committed that we can all look forward to?

Totally dropped food on LO. Not much else so far but I'm sure there'll be plenty throughout her life.

Funny story about me as a LO. I was up on my mom's shoulder and saw my grandma's dog walk into the room. I yelled out dog (first word) and nearly jumped head first over my mom's shoulder. She's always told me that she was so freaked out about me nearly landing on my head that it took her a while to realize I'd said my first real word.

No stories for me yet- but my mom just told me about my little sister: while she was breast feeding, she dropped her grilled cheese on the side of her face. She wasn't hurt, didn't cry at all, but my mom was bawling.

When I was in hospital (3 days) with DS, I was breast feeding him and eating chicken strips that I was dipping in mashed potatoes and gravy. Well on one dunk I got a little too much gravy and it dribbled on DS's little bald head. First reaction completely unconscious I licked it off. DH looked at me like I had lost my damn mind. I don't know why I did it. I guess DS had just been a part of me for so long it seemed natural like licking gravy off my own finger plus the fact my hands were both occupied. So ya that was a weird but funny (to me at least) mom moment.

I've also committed the classic squirting of milk all over baby's face. And today I also dribbled oatmeal on his hand and after unsuccessfully trying to wipe it clean with a finger I just resolved to licking it off. Hey I only had one free hand since I was nursing him and he just had a bath so he was clean!

Dr. Sears totally recommends licking your baby if you feel so inclined so I see nothing wrong with these... I think he meant it in terms of bonding but if licking gravy off your baby isn't bonding then I just don't know what is.

Also, I haven't changed a diaper where DD hasn't peed or pooped on me or herself in 3 days. H is so much better at that part!
