Hot Spot @Ecstatic83

@Ecstatic83 can you tell me more about the "hot spot" you mentioned in the CS post? I've been having a lot of pain on the left side of my incision kind of where my ovary is I think. The pain is worst in the middle of night when I move. When I read your reply I thought maybe you were having the same experiences?

  • I know I wasn't invited but I was having similar issues. Mine was more so stabbing and burning in one spot. My ob said it was nerve damage and would calm down in a year maybe. I also feel numb along the incision and he said that it's most likely permanent.

  • Everyone is invited!! I welcome all who may have these experiences. Yes, it is kind of like stabbing and burning. I haven't seen my OB since it started but I did call and they said it was probably a triggers nerve as well. I've heard pretty much all women I know who had a CS say it's numb forever. So weird.

  • Yea. By numbness got a little better but I in no way think it's going to go away for good. Unless it continues and doesn't get better or gets worse I wouldn't worry until you get to the year mark.
  • I had some extreme burning on the right side of my incision. I still do sometimes. I also feel like it's pulling. My doctor said that it's normal and there's nothing that can really be done.

  • This LO is my second CS.  I never got all the feeling back from 4 years ago.  Right after the surgery the numbness is weird feeling and I can't stop touching my abdomen to see where I feel and where I don't.  Over time it becomes less noticeable and the numb area got smaller.

I am interested to see how much comes back after the 2nd surgery.

  • I'm so sorry, I just now saw this. It was basically like PPs said. It was a spot around the incision that took longer to heal. I read that it's usually the side your OB is on. They call it hotspot because it feels kinda like burning.
