Trying to conceive help? Feeling frustrated!!

Hubby and I have been trying to conceive for a year now and still no luck! It's been frustrating and I am trying so hard to stay sane and be positive. I just found out my good friend who only has been trying for a couple of months just got pregnant with baby number 2. I want to be happy for her but part of me is just so angry and frustrated that it's taking us so long! Anyone else feeling this way??

Re: Trying to conceive help? Feeling frustrated!!

  • Not feeling the same way right now but prior to having my LO we were trying for about 7 months and I was getting pretty frustrated (particularly when people kept asking "when are you two going to have kids?").  We used ovulation kits and after a few months of that, we were able to conceive. I would say if you arent already, try using those... and also start taking a prenatal... my OB recommended that to me. Hang in there, it will happen!! :)

  • HI @MrsP924, my husband and I tried for a little over a year and then I went to see my OBGYN because we became increasingly frustrated! She sent me for blood work which came back fine and my husband for a semen analysis. Turns out he has a low count which is genetic and there isn't much that he can do so we are now seeing a Reproductive Endocrinologist at UCONN (Dr. Schmidt) which she referred us to.

I have a thread down below regarding UCONN Fertility center which you can read.

I'm not sure if you have seen anyone yet but if you have been using the ovulation kits for a long time and it still hasn't happened I would suggest seeing an Reproductive Endocrinologist. My biggest regret is not doing it sooner. I felt that something was wrong but everyone tells you to just relax and it will happen but it wasn't.

At right now I am being literally smothered by family members and friends who are pregnant. I know at least 10 girls who are due starting this week on through September and its extremely frustrating because I do wish it was us and its very painful. But I'm so glad that we found Dr. Schmidt, he is just truly amazing and I feel that somehow someway he will get us pregnant.

Also, I have been on the TTC board which you might be a good place for you to lurk and read what the other girls are going thru who are trying to conceive.

I wish you all the best luck, keep us posted xox
