Cheap finger foods for kids party?

We are having a small party with some friends for LO's b-day since it is so close to my due date we are keeping it very casual and simple. I am trying to keep the food quick, cheap, easy, and on the healthy side. These were some of my ideas, thoughts?, other ideas?

Cupcakes
Fruit tray with dip
Veggies and ranch dip
Cheese and crackers
Popcorn

  • If you're having it during meal time, I think you need something more substantial. How about adding some pizza?

  • My kids love hot dogs rolled in croissant rolls. Pigs in a blanket. Ordering pizza is always a good option but a little more pricey. This baby is due on my sons 3rd Birthday so pigs in a blanket for kids and pizza for adults it is!

  • My favorite kid party food is pizza rolls-- get crescent rolls, and inside each one put a little pizza sauce, half a mozzarella cheese stick, and if you want pepperoni.

    Super easy!

  • Veggies and hummus is great also!

  • I went to a kids' party a few weeks ago, and all of the fresh fruit was on skewers.   So like, 6 grapes on a little skewer, or 6 blueberries, or a few chunks of melon.  The kids loved them!  They were easy for little hands to grab without touching all of the other fruit, and it kept their hands from getting sticky while eating the fruit.

  • Don't  worry about doing to much, if your friends happen to ask have them bring something from your list.  Friends usually want to help if they can.  I just had my 3 yr olds party last night and only had to focus on cupcakes and popcorn (I have been making the decorations for the past month), my husband helped clean, and a couple friends brought a few items.  The party was at 3pm and since our kids are so little I didn't want to spoil there dinner, so I made it clear that it was a playtime/cupcake party, but had some healthy snacks also.  For the kids I made the mini cupcakes (banana bread/cream cheese frosting)
Last year I went all out on a big themed party and this year I kept it simple at our house and it was just as fun.  I am glad that I was able to give my daughter a fun party before the new baby comes.  Good Luck, I am sure it will be great.
