I know that there are ladies other than myself who are currently enrolled in some type of schooling, and trying to do that and raise a newborn is a challenging task! So I was just wondering if there would be any interest in a check-in for moms going to school. We could discuss things that we are having a hard time with, and try to support and motivate each other through it.
If you are interested, post here and let me know. Say something about yourself, what you are taking, when you should be finished, what you are hoping to do with the education, whatever you want to share, and we will go from there!
If there isn't any interest, that is okay too, I just thought it might be nice to get together with some other mamas in the same situation.
Re: Moms who are currently in school... check-in?
I'm struggling right now and I still have a cooking baby (till Monday that is) my other kids like the opportunity when I'm on the computer to disrupt, destroy, do something they know they're not supposed too. I can't imagine how I'm going to do it all with one to nurse and 4 to chase. I'm schedule to start my next class a week after my c-section.
I'm an Executive MBA student due to graduate this June. I plan for a much better job than I had and major jump in salary.
I had class this weekend and the next class is in 2 weeks (1/31), due 1/28. This is gonna be interesting. Luckily they record the sessions so the time I'll be out, I not completely SOL.
Great idea for a check-in @km_md.
I'm having a tough time with this class and managing my time. I thought if I could manage working full time and having two little ones, I shouldn't have a problem doing it at home on maternity leave with just the baby. I was wrong. Hopefully I get it figured out soon.

I am currently finishing up my residency in pediatric dentistry and a Masters in oral sciences. I will be finished in June.
I have been in some form of schooling full time ever since I graduated high school in 2003. I am excited to move on to life after formal education.
My plans right now are to find a job in public health for about 5 years to help pay down student loans and also for the benefits should we decide to have a third child. During that time I plan on saving for starting my own private practice. I hope during that time that we get to take a few vacations too. DH and I got married 7.5 years ago and the first vacation we ever got to take was to Disney this past summer- so we are overdue for some relaxation. We also want to adopt so we will have to start saving for that as well.
I take written boards in May and defend my Masters thesis in June. I am hoping for another easy baby so that these tasks are not as difficult as they are seeming right now!
I'm in pharmacy school and will graduate in May. Thankfully I only have 2 one-month rotations left in March and April.
I am a community college professor, hoping to complete some training during maternity leave myself, but also watching this thread to see what mothers need. I do a lot of advising, and many many of my students have children. I'm always looking for ways to help them better manage school and life.
