Stitches healing?

I tried searching but couldn't find much on this.

I'm 3 weeks post partum and just finished my prescription pain meds 3 days ago. I have a 3rd degree tear. Yesterday after getting groceries I noticed my stitched perineum area started to pinch/pull. Is this how it feels as things start to heal? I took a look down there and things seem to look ok - other than what looks like a small tear right at the base of my vagina. At my appt 10 days post partum my doc said I was stitched very well - so I don't think it would be that I pulled a stitch out. Does this sound like its normal healing stuff, and I'm just starting to feel it more because I don't have the stronger pain meds anymore? Sorry for this being so long... I had 3rd degree as well. When I stopped taking rx pills, I felt it more too. Plus if you've been active (i.e. doing more than just sitting), you'll feel it ache. Try to take it easy when you feel it starting to hurt and take Advil.

Sounds about right. I had a third degree episiotomy/tear too, although no Rx pain meds, and I was feeling the pinch/pull the first week pp. Doc said that things were dry down there and getting irritated by my hemmoroids. Good times. Anyway, she prescribed an estrogen cream for me to put on the perineum area and that has helped a lot.
