What do u guys think?

So for those of u who have seen my comments I am running on 2 hour naps spread out throughout the day. I consider it extremely lucky if dd makes it 2 hours in her cradle. No matter how asleep she is when I set her in there the next hour is spent trying to keep a pacifier in, calming her, getting we back to sleep.
I was just curious... Did any of your babies hate the cradle but like the crib? I'm gonna try sleeping in the rocking chair in her room and setting her in the crib tonight. What do ya think? I'm getting used to 2 hours at a time but would love to stretch it to 3 :) and also going to bed before 2 am... A girl can dream right??

  • I would try the crib for sure. Failing that many babies love the Rock N play because of the incline.

I second this. Its almost like its "holding" them the way it cradles them. And the slight incline may help some babies who have reflux or gas issues. It's worked awesome for my last 2...I never had it for my first.

  • I feel you sister! We have LO in the pack and play cradle and I'm finding that NOBODY is getting sleep. We are going to try the crib also. With DD1, she was in the crib from day one and did great. Hoping this works with our LO and with yours as well! Good luck!
  • My DS seems to like the pack and play better than the rock and play (which is unfortunate as the RnP is in our bedroom for nighttime) so I'd definitely let your LO try out the crib.

  • I would definitely try the crib. And I second the rnp, I didn't have for my first, but it has been a life saver for this baby. Also try your pack and play (my son loved this). I also find that my lo needs to be rocked and sleep/ patted (burped)on me after a feeding for about 15-30 minutes, if I put her down before that she fusses and wakes up. Unfortunately, you just need to keep trying to find out what works for your lo! Hoping you get three hour stretches tonight!
  • @wilburbud, I've developed a bump crush on you and just thought you should know.  I love your comment about the schizophrenia.

DD is perfectly happy in RNP one day and not the next. We move the RNP from room to room if she prefers that at the moment. We also have a bassinet in our room where she sleeps most nights and a cradle that FIL made that is in the living room in case she's having one of her I prefer to be flat on my back moments.

I say try it out and see if it works for the time being.

  • I am a huge RnP advocate as well. Noah loves his and I got it because the bump ladies recommended it to me. He was in the cosleeper but I was uncomfortable with it because he had no head support. He sleeps so well in his RnP. However, I agree with @wilburbud. One baby may love something another doesn't so I would try the crib first and you already have that.

  • DS didn't like his crib until 5 months…he needed an incline.I eventually bought a mattress wedge to elevate one end of his crib mattress. That eventually worked after a transition period.

  • My LO hated the crib and bassinet. She eould wake every 30 minutes in them. After a week of no sleep, I finally got her to sleep 4 hours at a time by swaddling her and putting her in the RNP for bedtime. Hope you find what works for your LO!
  • Could you try a differnt pacifier? We were having the same issues with our DS and were up every two hours thinking he was hungry and wanted to eat. We would try everything and nothing would work. Turns out, he just wanted to suck on something for comfort. The pacifier we had, the smoothie, was too big for his mouth and would fall out after 5 min when he would begin to fall asleep. We recently tried the MAM brand and it fits into his mouth and doesn't fall out. He's now not fussing for hours at a time in between feedings and we are getting sleep again. Just a thought and hope it works for you like it worked for us!

Babies are crazy schizophrenic sons of bitches. And I say that with love.

I heart you @Wilburbud. Hon, I'm do sorry and am right there with you! We are using a PnP, but I wish we had this magical RnP... My baby likes our swing too and it gives me a few hours every morning!

  • Maybe I'll have DH get out the swing next. Yeah last night was actually one of the worst nights too. She wouldn't let me put her down from 130 to 4. DH actually took her for an hour to help but he said she screamed for half of it. Can't wait for this phase to be over.
