So I started having some pelvic cramping on my way to work yesterday morning, nothing to painful so I just brushed it off. I'll be 33 weeks tomorrow for those on the mobile bump. Anyway, by 10:30 I had been having the cramping every 20-30 minutes but not really increasing in intensity. I also was having much worse back pain than my usual back pain I've been having in the past few weeks. I decided to call my Dr. and had to leave a message on their triage line. By noon I ended up leaving work cause my back pain was so bad I couldn't even sit comfortably and I was still having the cramping. I called my doc again at noon and again left a message. I got home and laid down and the cramping seemed to subside a bit. At 1:30 the doc's office finally called me back and they told me to head over to L&D. I figured since the cramping had started to die down they would probably check me, tell me everything was fine, and send me on my way. Well when they hooked me up to the monitor I was having contractions every 2 minutes and apparently I wasn't feeling them. This continued for 2 hours. They had me start drinking a lot of water about an hour after I got there and the contractions stopped on their own after I drank about 2 pitchers of water. They did examine me and do some swabs to check for strep b and for pre term labor. The pre term labor swab came back negative, I wasn't dilated at all, and baby wasn't in the birth canal. Even though the contractions seemed to stop after I drank more water they said they couldn't confirm it was dehydration that caused it cause my urine wasn't super concentrated and their were no signs of a UTI. They released me by 6:30 last night. I'm glad I wasn't in full blown labor but I'm really freaked out now cause they can't say exactly what caused it and I also can't believe I was contracting that much and didn't feel it. I'm paranoid now that I could potentially go into pre term labor at anytime. Anytime I feel the baby move or the slightest twinge I'm thinking it could be a contraction. I know I'm overreacting but I can't help it, my pregnancy has been super easy up till this and all has been looking good with baby on all of our tests. Now that something has happened it just has me freaked out.
