I have a friend who has two sons and maybe it's bc I've never raised boys that I think something she does is weird. Maybe the word "judge" isn't the right word for the title. Anyway, she just posted a pic of her youngest with the caption of "potty training has began." Well, the pic is him with his pants at his ankles peeing into a bush in a parking lot. Is this a normal or accepted way to potty train a boy? Just let him go where and whenever he has the urge? I remember her doing this with her first son (now 7) but said she made him stop at 5 bc he would be going to school.

ETA: I'm judging her for posting a picture of it on the internet for all to see. Also, who teaches a kid that it's acceptable to do that in public? I mean, if he was in a parking lot, there was a bathroom available somewhere nearby. At the very least give the kid a water bottle. FFS.
ETA: I'm feeling particularly pissy today.
I don't take her caption as how they actually potty train, but as trying to be funny with the caption.

And I agree with PP on the laziness.
Who am I kidding, someone out there has definitely done this. Oh wait, it was my crazy 30 year old cousin. And that picture grossed me out...

My older son has peed outside plenty of times and I may or may not have taken a photo of it from behind. BUT, I've never posted it online for anyone to see, we were camping in all instances of him peeing outside, and it's definitely not the method we used to potty train him!
I can't promise that photo of his teeny-tiny-tushy aiming into the tall grasses of the campsite won't be shown to a GF or something like that when he's older. Every mom needs a photo or two like that of her kids!
