I have my anatomy scan at 2:20 (cst) I am nervous. My last one w my dd was not a good experience. She was fine but her kidneys developed abnormally. The doctor scared us. His bedside manner was awful!
I have my OB appointment today at 7:50am pst. Looking forward to seeing her and hopefully getting on some anti depressants!! Need to talk to her also about some digrstive pain I have been having. Hoping I can get that squared away as well!!
Thanks! @letsgobowlingx he answered a phone call while trying to get us to do a amino without speaking to my OB. He was telling me it was a marker for downs and If he had a baby w down syndrome he would abort the pregnancy. What? Who says that. I was. 20 weeks. It was insane! BTW my daughter is fine and her kidneys function normally.
I forgot to post, but I had my a/s on Wednesday. Feeling very blessed to get a good report! Baby is growing strong and big, measuring about 1-2 weeks ahead - just like DS. Still Team Green
Update - so, everything went 95% perfectly! Baby looks healthy, tracking for our 6/6 due date, and we're still team green!
However, the doctor (not mine) that we met with afterwards totally ruined the experience. Apparently there is a little something in the brain (some kind of fluid?) that he only saw on the top view, but not from the side views (which is a good thing), and 90% of the time is totally fine and is caused by a cold or recent infection. 10% of the time can cause some degree of learning disabilities. Not great news, but fine. It was his delivery - he spent maybe two minutes with us, rambled off his over medicalized jargon, and was totally cold and unhelpful when I asked him to slow down and explain a bit more. We're going back in for another scan next Friday. This is exactly why I didn't want to deliver at a hospital - I hate working with doctors like him. I called my OB and left her a message to see if she can explain to me a little more clearly, fingers crossed.
I'm sure it's all fine, and I'm extremely grateful that every other aspect of the baby looks fantastic. Just wish I never had to deal with asshats like that
Good Luck to those who have upcoming appointments today. I just got back from my A/S and our baby GIRL is healthy and right on target for our June 18 due date. H and I are beyond excited and so happy to know that baby is healthy.
I had my anatomy scan/20 week ultrasound today. SO HAPPY AND RELIEVED. I got to see the baby moving and grooving for about 45
minutes. They looked at the heart (144 bpm), spine, brain, bladder, kidneys,
stomach, hands, arms, feet, and legs. Also took measurements of amniotic fluid
and all of that. As she went through her procedures, she kept saying, “looks
fantastic”, and I’d silently check one more thing off the list and breathe a
sigh of relief. Baby is measuring almost a week ahead right now--go baby go!
Had my first appointment with the high risk OB today and worked out a plan to try to prevent Pre-E and HELLP syndrome again this pregnancy. Talked about extra ultrasounds to monitor development and it was all pretty typical compared to what we did during my second pregnancy (which was absolutely healthy no problems at all ). It will include a couple new tests though that in the two years since my last pregnancy have been used to monitor things. All in all I'd say it went well. I did have to drag the boys with me because DH was called into the office and I no one was available to watch them. That made for a fun trip. They both got giddy when they got to hear baby's heartbeat!
Looking forward to my A/S next Wednesday and my next normal OB visit on the 28th.
Just got back from our a/s!!! Our beautiful baby GIRL is perfect. Everything looked great! We are all so excited. DS was excited but when we got in the car he asked me if I took his brother away, guess he wasn't expecting to have a sister!!
Had my appt this morning and everything is perfect! So relieved:-) We told the tech we were having a reveal tomorrow, so she wrote down the sex in an envelope and we delivered it to the cake lady.
Even though she had us close our eyes when she was taking measurements in that "area", that baby was flipping and flopping around so much my husband and I are pretty sure we saw boy parts:-)
Regardless, it was so amazing to see that baby moving around, happy and healthy as can be! So lucky/blessed/thankful today!
My a/s was this morning and they managed the measure everything (phew). With DD I ended up with 3 scans to finally get all her measurements. They told me it would take 3 days for the results, however when I went to my weekly appt with my GP she already had all the results. Baby is measuring right on track and looks perfectly healthy in all ways. Such a relief after this past week. I also got to for sure determine the middle name, which will be after my DH, as I'm having a baby boy, exciting and terrifying at the same time.
So I had my appointment today just a regular check up but heard the baby heart rate which was at 144 and every time we tried to get a good reading s/he would move and try to through it off. I am going to be having a talk with the LO on Feb. 10th to make sure s/he knows that s/he needs to be good and not move so much. LOL Other then my cold everything is going good right on track where I need to be.
Had reg 20w ob appt at 8:30 am est w heartbeat of 142 and measuring right on target. Had our a/2 at 11:40 am and baby looks great, apparently weighs 11 oz and IT'S A BOY
My A/S went great! Baby looks great and she is still a girl! Couldn't get a picture of her face because she would only show us her back. So we got a picture of the back of her head and her hand covering her face. Ha!
Pipsqueak in 3D! Baby is using my placenta as a pillow. We had our anatomy scan at 3:15. We're still 100% team green. Not even the u/s tech knows right now. Apparently I have the most uncooperative kid the u/s tech has seen in a long time. Baby was sitting cross legged, vertical and way down low (pretty much sitting on my cervix); like I had to pull my pants pretty much all the way down so she could try at get to the baby. She got 1 face shot, as seen, and the rest were all balled up spine and the top of the cranium. I drank orange juice, rolled from side to side, and the tech was doing everything she could to try to get baby to move but Pipsqueak was being extremely stubborn. Have to go back the 14th to try to get the rest of the measurements so hopefully Pipsqueak cooperates then.
I had my 17 week checkup today. Waited for 30 mins only to have a 5 minute appointment! Geez! Heartbeat was at 150 and I've gained 8 lbs since the first appointment (I now weigh 131). They measured my belly growth and that was it! The highlight of that appointment was hearing my baby's heartbeat and scheduling my anatomy scan for 3 weeks from today! Can't wait to find out what we're having!!
Scan revealed it's a girl! Also showed a low laying placenta that may require a c-section (which scares me a bit) but everything else looks just fine. Another scan @ 28 weeks to recheck the placenta position
Late on the update but.... Baby Espree was apparently getting irritated during the scan. Kept blocking its face w/ its arms.. Scratched its head at one point.. Lol. We're team green so no sex reveal. Baby resembles DH from what we could tell. HR was 138 and baby weighs 12oz. I'm soooo ready for June. ETA: My cervix is also measuring great.. And my butt itches from that darn shot. Erghhhh!

Still Team Green
