♥ ♥ April Mommas Check-in ♥ ♥

Hello loves and Happy Tuesday. How has everyone been? I hope 2014 is treating you well so far. ((hugs)) to those who need them. I'm going to be doing some house cleaning and updating of our check-in. There are quite a few inactive ladies who have moved on or stopped checking in. Please do me a favor and make sure your loss date is correct. I'll be removing anyone who doesn't check in this week and we can continue with a fresher clean slate.

Skip the PgAL section at the bottom if you are having a bad day.

This is a check-in for anyone with a loss or EDD in April. Join us and tell us a bit about yourself.
Here are some siggy badges – feel free to use!

Re: ♥ ♥ April Mommas Check-in ♥ ♥ 1/14 (BFP warning)

  • Hi Poppy and fellow April mommas!

Update: CD1 today, which is totally horrible timing (see TP thread) and earlier than expected. I called my RE's office to schedule my baseline u/s so I can get restarted on femara. Apparently, the office has to resubmit all approvals for cycling because of the new year, even though I was approved in November and wasn't able to do it then because it came in too late. Then, I couldn't do it in December because of the holidays. So, hopefully it won't take too long to get approved because I scheduled my appointment anyway. If the authorization doesn't come in by Friday, I'll end up paying OOP for that first u/s ($300) without being able to go back and submit for reimbursement. If it does come in before Friday, I think it'll be $70-ish. I don't care about taking that chance, I don't want to push back the medicated cycle again.

Bottomline... I have a love/hate relationship with my HMO.

QOTW: I love Spring! I can't wait for the daffodils and tulips to pop up.

  • Thanks for the check in @Poppy715. I did not see my EDD up there: it was 4/27/14.

AFM: I just plowing along. H has a job interview Thursday and Friday so we are both nervous for it. He more so than me, b/c the man is a shoo in for the job. FX he gets as we could use the step up in pay. It will eventually mean moving, but, for now, if he gets it, he will commute.

QOTW: I love spring, however, my allergies hate it. I cant for it tho!!

  • Hi. It is my first time checking in on this post. I'm a quiet stalker. My EED was 4/30/14 with a loss on 10/14/13. I was wondering if there is anyone with this kind of experience: It took 53 days until my 1st period (AF?). Now I'm on day 39. I've been cramping since CHRISTMAS! I feel so out of whack with no idea of what to expect. Anyone have this long of a cycle? I've had ZERO contact with my doctor since my ultrasound 3 days after mmc. QOTW: I can't wait to see the flowers. They are so peaceful and remind me of the miracles that God performs every day.
  • @Poppy715 are you feeling comfortable in your job now? Anything new with ya? xoxo

@luciddreamer106 I'm so sorry for AF. She's such a bitch. ((Hugs))

@megrae12 allergies suck. I feel so bad for people who have to battle them in the best of seasons! I know I already said this but GL for the hubs!

@sunlavender yay for a plan! GL with everything Hun!

@hawkward GL with your testing. Hope all of your levels are good!

@MrsKJohnson2011 I'm so sorry for your loss. I don't have experience with this, but I'm surprised you were patient enough to not call during your 53 day wait. I know cycles can be wonky after a loss, how regular were they prior?

As for me I got a positive OPK CD 13 and we have had good timing. I'm now CD 16. Last month we did ED BD and I think that stressed me out. I'm just taking it easy and staying busy!

QOTW: I'm too excited for spring! We are putting up a shed and planting some trees/ landscaping in the backyard and adding more to the front. We bought new construction, so we started with putting in sod and planting a garden and trees in the front yard. We are also getting a riding lawn mower because out yard is just under an acre. I can't wait to do our covered deck next fall also! And a fire pit :)

  • @sunlavender that's very exciting. Another IUI. I hope everything goes perfectly and as planned. I know IUIs have a few moving parts that all have to come together.

@Hawkward hey gurlll. I'm glad you are feeling better this week. It makes me happy to hear you are doing well. Sorry there is no end to TTA in sight. I know it can be awful with no end date or light at the end if your tunnel.

@MrsKJohnson2011welcome. Have you read the blog and the sticky post on the main page? I highly suggest both! They are so helpful and loaded with info. I would also suggest a follow up with your doctor. Did you have a break after your bleeding and then AF? Your doctor really would have better advice than me. I am not an expert whatsoever.

@libby+nate hey lady! FX for you. Hopefully your timing was just right. Bring in the distractions! Keep busy and if you can't help it test away. That's why we have Wofondos. :)

Your spring sounds lovely. We have planted a garden the past 2 springs and we love planning everything out and watching things grow. It's been so fun. The fire pit sounds great!

I'm doing alright at work. I'm starting to get to know people a little bit more. I was even invited to someone's birthday lunch this week! I was so happy to just be included. I've got my first event tomorrow so that's kind of exciting! Thanks for asking! :)

Today was my EDD for my January baby Olivia so it was an emotional day but I had an interview at the same hospital and floor I had the interview last week so that helped my day alittle. I am ready for spring but also anxious probably like the rest of you ladies as our April babies should be celebrating their 1st birthdays instead we will be celebrating them in another way. @Poppy715 how are you?

  • Hello ladies,

I am currently sick and on cd29/dpo10 with my temp dropping guessing I am out... I cannot wait for spring. I believe my happiness is linked to the sun and winter is so depressing for me. Sorry I am a bad bumpie today it's about all I can get in right now.

  • Hi! @poppy715 I am Becs18- changed my username- sorry if that is super confusing! I just wanted to feel comfortable posting more and I had used that name for other stuff so I did not feel so comfortable. Also my EDD was 4/26/14- not 2013. Thanks!! Good luck with your event today!

@luciddreamer106 I'm so sorry for AF. FX for the next cycle!

@megrae12 I am with you on the allergies! Claritin helps me a lot, but ugh Spring allergies are the worse!

@sunlavender FX for the treatments- hope it goes well!

    @hawkward GL with your testing!

@MrsKJohnson2011 I'm so sorry for your loss. I am always battling if I should call my doctor or not, but I think you should call- there is nothing worst then waiting!

    @libby=nate FX for this cycle!!

I am OK. My cycles have recently gotten really long again, which is so frustrating. I have PCOS and metformin had given me nice 35 day cycles, but not anymore =( My last AF took almost a month to come after I O'd and I am currently on CD23 and have not O'd yet. So frustrating. I called my Dr today to make an appointment and see what I can do. My Dr is sort of bothering me though- she was so amazing during the MC but lately I am finding her too laid back about everything. I have not had a chance to BD since Thanksgiving and I'm getting so Frustrated/tired/sad/angry at my body so maybe I am just projecting it on to her. I usually love Spring because I hate the cold and I love that winter is over (even though I have horrible spring allergies too!) but this year I just feel panicked that it is coming and wish time would slow down.

We are going to plant more autumn blaze maples. (Ironically our development is called Autumn Blaze) but we LOVE the beautiful almost neon orange they turn to in the fall. They get about 30 ft with medium growth rate. We are also going to plant a greenish/blue colored evergreen (I don't know the name of it but it's talk and then / nothing like a Christmas tree) by the shed to block the neighbors view all year :) we only have neighbors on one side. I love that your mom did that! How beautiful!

  • Hi everyone!  I had IUI #2 post-loss this morning, we had great #s, great lining, great timing, and a good follie count, so I'm feeling more optimistic about this IUI than any of my previous.  Which also means that if it doesn't work, it's going to be a bad day in the rox household!  FX.

QOTW- I cannot wait for spring.  I loathe cold weather, and I love heat, sun, swimming, being outside, wearing flip flops, seeing flowers, hiking with the dogs, etc etc etc.  January is already half over, woot!

Poppy715 Glad that the job is going well!
luciddreamer106 Sorry about CD1 and that your insurance company is being a PITA!  I hope that you get your approval before Friday.
megrae12 I get allergies too, but I also can't wait for spring.  Good luck to your H.
sunlavender I think that I said the same thing in the IF check-in, hope that your appointment Friday goes well!  FX for your IUI.
Hawkward I'm glad that you've been feeling better over the past few weeks.
MrsKJohnson2011 Sorry that your cycles are out of whack, I'd give your dr a call just to see what he or she thinks.
@libby+nate Sounds like you will have your hands full this spring!  We did the opposite and bought an old house that had been vacant for a few years, and instead of being a lovely blank slate, our yard was a disaster.  We tried to fix it up ourselves over the past 3 years and have made some progress, but I think that we're going to break down and hire a landscaper this spring.  H loves his riding mower!
irons633 I hope that your interview works out!
rubysi Sunshine and daylight definitely affects my mood too.  Sorry you've been sick, I'm finally just now getting over a cold/cough that I came down with a few days after Christmas.  This time of year blows.
jarc2009 Sorry that you're having cycle issues, I hope that your dr can get them back under control.

  • Hi April Mamas,

@Poppy715 Thanks for this check in and for cleaning house!

I definitely like to check in here from time to time, especially as my EDD starts to get closer.  As you may remember it coincides with our annual huge fundraiser so I am now having weekly meetings that feel like a stab in the heart.  Instead of missing the fundraiser to have a baby, I am in the thick of it with reminders of my loss at every turn.  :(   We are doing IVF in March so there is some hope that I will be newly pregnant in April but it's hard to get my hopes too far up.

@Poppy715  I'm so glad you are liking the new job.  Going out to a birthday lunch with coworkers I don't know that well is actually my worst nightmare because i have terrible social anxiety, but I'm glad you are included! :)

@megrae12  Good luck to your H on the job interview -a bump up in pay is always good!

@luciddreamer106  sorry about CD 1 and extra sorry about insurance hassles.  It is insult upon injury that we have to wade through all this red tape.

@sunlavendar  Fingers crossed for your upcoming IUI!  THey've been pretty successful around here lately :)

@Hawkward  I don't know that we've had much interaction but I've always been meaning to tell you that your screen name and avatar make me LOL all the time.  I repeat it in my head "HAWK-ward...."

@MrsKJohnson2011  Welcome to the check in and sorry about your long cycles.  I hope things get regular for you soon.

@libby+nate  So excited for you this month - FX!

@irons633  I hope you made it through yesterday ok.  I have been thinking about you.  <3

@rubysi  I hope the sun comes back for you soon.

@jarc2009  Sorry about your long cycles.  Keep pushing your laid back doctor - I know how frustrating it is to feel like you are your only advocate, but the truth is - you are.

@rox825  I've said this elsewhere, but woohoo for your IUI  - let's keep this IUI success train rolling!

Big ((hugs)) ladies.  It's hard to  believe its January already.  I feel like my loss just happened, but it's already been 5 months.

    Have a wonderful day.

  • Good afternoon ladies.

I am back after a break since October. I was having a hard time dealing with my loss. I am back now and much happier than I was. Each month sucks when af comes, but I am still keeping my head up.This cycle I started temping. It's a little intimidating, but nice to have a visual. Fingers crossed that this is our month, but if not, we will keep on going.

I cannot wait for spring. This is my first winter back in the midwest after spending 4 years in southeast Texas. I hate being cold!

  • @irons633 I'm so sorry it's been a hard week. That would be really hard having to focus and be at your best for your interview and have an EDD near. I'm glad they are both behind you.

@Rubysi don't feel bad. There's no bad bumpies. We all have various things going on. I hate that I can't be around more but work just doesn't allow me the time anymore. We can just do what we can and be supportive when we are here. MH said the same thing about the sun. It makes everything a little brighter. I'm so sorry about the temp drop. That's so hard.

@jarc2009 I'll get that switched out for you! I remember you changing it. I'll fix that EDD too. I can't imagine the craziness that you PCOS ladies go through. I get all nutty because of spotting. I hate that your body isn't reliable and doing what you need it to do. Maybe talk to your doctor and ask her what your next steps are. Or if she's really getting to you there's no harm in getting a second opinion.

I wanted to tell everyone how the event went! It was an insane day. I was calm in the morning ans so frazzled by the time we started. Some of the Sr. team added a few things to the agenda so that added some craziness to the day. It wasn't the smoothest thing in the world (I had to made an emergency run to 7-11 for more forks!) but at the end of the nght everyone was happy. I've had a really good response from people so I think it went great to the outside eye. I learned a lot about how things are done here so I will adjust my gameplan for next time and have things in some different places. Thanks to everyone who asked how it went! I didn't get home until around 7:45 so I was beat and ready to put my feet up.

A work event is not complete unless there is an emergency run to some type of store.  Our coffee maker broke and I had to run and get Starbucks for a whole room of very important people and I managed to spill everything just as I was approaching my building.  Good times.

    Congrats on a good event!

Sounds like it went as good as can be expected for a first event, if not better! If forks was the only problem, then I say you nailed it! Yippee! So happy for you! Get em' girl!
