The last straw...

E was only changed ONCE at DC today. Between 8 and 4:30, one diaper change. They claimed she was "dry" at the other 2 change times, but she was soaked and reeked of pee when we picked her up.
She also cried from the time we picked her up till we got home and fed her (and entire cereal bar, some craisins, and a couple plantain chips.) She was starving.
Finally, she had another incident report. This time she smashed her fingers in the cabinet. How did this happen? Shouldn't it be baby proofed?
I've had it.

Well, we are definitely looking for other options. I really don't know that we can afford 500 more a month. But we will be looking really hard at our finances. And I guess we will have to start looking into nannies again. I would love to do a nanny share, but it seems like just about our whole neighborhood is SAHMs.
I don't know what were going to do, but this isn't ok.

I am a sahm and you know what I would love to take care of someone else's baby! Maybe you can ask around and see if someone would be willing to make a little extra money.

I am totally pissed for you. I just don't get this...would these DC employees be okay with their daughter being changed 1x/day? I doubt it. But, I did work in foster care for years. Nothing really shocks me anymore.

That stinks. I hope you can find a better option. We had a bad DC experience and decided to move S. The cost was significantly higher but we decided it was worth it for peace if mind. Like you - we weren't sure we could afford it. But we ended up reworking our finances so we could afford it. It's basically a second mortgage but I can't imagine her being anywhere else. Best of luck to you in finding another option!

Oh TJ, I'm horrified for you. Poor E! Maybe start asking around your neighborhood? Like @luvboston said, maybe there is a mom wanting to watch another kiddo for the extra money, but doesn't want to deal with trying to find someone.

A nanny might be a more affordable option with deuce on the way.

I would be absolutely livid. That is unacceptable, and it seems as though the DC should be held accountable- they should not be allowed to leave a child dirty, hungry and (considering her finger incident) unsupervised. You really should let a supervisor, or someone, know why you will be looking for childcare else where. I am sure there are other children who go there who are also being mistreated.

And I know that does not help your current problem of finding another childcare solution, I'm just so mad for you!! I agree with the others' suggestion of either finding a SAHM who wants to make a little extra money and watch your LO. I really really hope you find a solution soon.

Thanks everyone. She smashed her fingers in the changing table cabinet where her diapers are kept. My money says she was trying to get a diaper out and let them know she really needed to be changed. She brings us dipes at home all the time when she's wet. It's so upsetting to think of her trying so hard to communicate her needs and being ignored.
We have a friend who is interested in a nanny share, but it will be a few months before they are ready. FX it works out and either everything is ok or we figure out a plan in between now and then.

@mcgeeva I think we are going to try to swing the other day care. Finances will be tight, but I'm just not comfortable. Mh is lookin at nannies this week, and we might have a nanny share option after deuce is born. So I'm not really sure yet, but we are getting her out as quickly as we can.

I would you have had so many indicents lately it's not acceptable anymore. I can see a mistake or two but a diaper all day? There is just no reason to tap a butt and notice..hm her diaper is full. I'm sorry
