Finally got an appointment!

I mentioned in the check-in on Sunday that I've been waiting for 2 months to get a dang referral to a fertility clinic for further testing and that there had been multiple screw ups in the whole process.

Well I FINALLY got an appointment! I'm scheduled to go in on Feb 26th and will have a whole bunch of blood drawn and meet with the RE. I'm excited and nervous all at the same time, but I am so happy that we are actually moving forward and heading towards something.

Anyways, I felt like this good news needed its own post.

I'm so excited!!!!! Are you having the blood drawn before so that you can go over the results at that appointment or having it drawn the day of??

Drawn the day of. Then we have to wait 9-11 weeks for the results and our follow up appointment.

Holy shit!! And they can't just have you go to any lab like today and have it drawn!? I'm sorry hun, that sucks. I hate how long it has taken you to get an appointment and results. ((hugs))

Ya, it's frustrating. But they are a specialty lab or something and they run tests that aren't as common. I'm not sure, I just know that they have this special program thing for RPL so that's what I'll be entering. Oh well. At least we're moving forward, right?

Yay for finally getting an appointment! (Boo for having to wait so long for follow up). Is it the Karyotyping results that are expected to take so long? We had to wait for ours, but I think the results were in within 6 weeks.

They DO realize you're travelling from out of town right? Sometimes that changes the process a little bit, so you might want to make sure just in case. (Then again, saving everything for one trip would probably push your meeting back, and I'm sure at this point you want to see the RE as soon as you can).

I actually have no idea what tests they'll be running. I figured I'd ask at my appointment. And yes, they do realize I am travelling from out of town. I'm pretty sure it's just their protocol to wait so long. And you never know, maybe it won't be such a long wait but they just have to say that to cover their butts in case it is.
