Good Morning All! Happy Friday, we made it through another week! Hope everyone is doing well, and has a great weekend!

So... You go to a fair, and at this fair, you win a pet monkey, but this isn't just any old monkey, he can and will do ONE trick/thing for you whenever you want him to do it.  What is the ONE trick/thing you would want him to do for you?
-------------------------------------------------------

What is something that you have your child(ren) do for you? (Anything from getting something from the fridge to a particular chore)

Plans for the weekend?

Re: `*`*` GTKY & YK(s) Friday `*`*`**

  • I would have him do the perfect blow out to my hair. It always gets done great when someone else does it.

For DS, dusting... I hate dusting.  Now so does he, so he tries to get out of it too.  Other than that he has to wash and feed the dog.  (And whatever other chores i give him)

Tomorrow, I have a sewing class.  (Go ahead and laugh) I got a sewing machine from my grandparents, and it came with 2 free sewing classes. Which is good because I don't know how to sew.  Sunday watching football.  GO BRONCOS!!!!

  • Loading the player...
  • I would have him do laundry - I feel like I am always doing laundry! I am a little OCD about not having it pile up!

Jeffrey loves to help me feed the cats in the morning - he picks up and hands me the cat bowls. Also, I have had a cold for almost 2 months now and we have tissue boxes everywhere. Whenever he passes by one, he will get a Kleenex and hand it over to me!

Tomorrow we have our first Music Together class. No other plans, it seems like everyone we know is sick so we are keeping a low profile!
  • That monkey will do laundry! More specifically fold it and put it away.

My girls are really working on cleaning up one toy/mess before starting another. It's a work in progress.

DH and I are getting together with some friends tonight, my family is visiting tomorrow, and my ILs are coming on Sunday to celebrate my bday.

  • Do monkeys clean bathrooms? Because that would be awesome. I hate cleaning our bathroom.

Hunter helps me with the laundry. He takes the piles of clothes and puts them in the washer and I will hand him stuff from the washer for him to put in the dryer. He loves identifying what item of clothing belongs to each person " dats Mommys shirt. Dats Daddy's pants. OOOO!!! Dats MY jammies!!"

I've got class Saturday and Sunday morning, but Saturday afternoon we are going to a first birthday party and Sunday I am meeting up with an old work friend for lunch.

  • I would have that monkey pick up the million little things that are never put away in my house. My DH and DD are famous for just leaving things out and not putting them away. I just like it off the counter or table even if it's in the drawer--I just don't want to see it!

She is in a good age where she wants to help and can get a lot of things for us. It's very nice!

We are headed to a fancy schmancy masquerade ball tomorrow night with friends and then we leave on Sunday to go to Disney for the week! I will miss you girls, but can't wait to have some time off!

I would want my monkey to rob banks. Duh.

  • I would have the monkey vacuum - I can;t stand vacuuming. :)
Still need to work on having my daughter help out (she's 21 months) she does like to tell me everywhere there is a "mess"  aI will give her a wet paper towel and she wipes off everything for me.  Every little bit helps!
We are planning to visit the San Diego Safari Park tomorrow - Jovie loves animals!

Your girl fetching stuff inspired today's GTKY.  For realz.

And of course your monkey would rob banks breaking the law and shit.

  • I would have the monkey clean my entire house. I'm always complaining to my DH that we need to get a cleaning lady, but then he reminds me that we can't afford one. Lol My DS likes to vacuum, but can get a little possessive of it sometimes and so it takes me even longer to get it done:) No big plans his weekend, just relaxing and enjoying my family.
  • I would have the monkey organize stuff (closets, laundry room, etc.)

DS is 2 and LOVES to clean. I give him a plain (clean) wet sponge and scrubs random items around the house with it including the cat lol.

My plans for the weekend include a game of thrones marathon in sweatpants with lots of junk food.

@freakyfast I would love to learn to sew (my mom and grandmother are great at it) you might enjoy it and my granny just made the newest great grand babies fleece sleep sacks and beautiful quilts. I hope you're sewing a whole nursery soon! ;)

  • @freakyfast, how did the sewing class go?  I'm a sewer and really enjoy it.  I've only done it a couple years, so I'm not all that great at it yet but it's fun to create things.

It was pretty awesome... We did pretty basic stuff, like cleaning of the machine, reviewing needles, then we did some patterns and such, learned how to make a button hole.  The lady that taught the class does personal classes, so I got her card. I don't have anywhere to really set up my sewing machine, so once we move hopefully we will have a craft room or something.  I am stoked to actually start doing stuff.

That's great!  Glad you're excited!  Nerds/old ladies, unite!!  We dont' have a separate space for my machine either, so I bought this and keep it in our formal living room (which is basically only used as our dog's bedroom).  It has a decent amount of work space, looks like a piece of furniture, and was cheap, so it fit the bill when I was uncertain as to whether I was going to stick with the sewing thing or not:
