Was anyone taken *OFF* of bed rest towards the end?

Hi ladies. I was put on modified bedrest at 30 weeks because I was having a lot of contractions and was dilated at 1cm. Things have been going great ever since. I go to my MFM appointments every week and my cervix has been holding up really well, contractions have stayed in check too. About a week ago (at 32 weeks) I asked my OB if I still needed bed rest and she said I should stay on it for a few more weeks. Sound like she might let me off the hook eventually! Just wondering, has anyone been allowed off of bed rest after the danger of preterm labor has passed? Thanks!

  • I never made it that far myself, but I would think if it's just MBR for contractions, once you're in a safer place, the doc would be willing to let you move around a little more until nature takes its course. Personally, I would still take it as easy as possible to try to get to term....as annoying as it is to be on "house arrest" it's so worth it for healthy babies.

  • Yup I was. I was put on bedrest at 27 weeks after ptl and kept on till 33 weeks. Once I was 33 I was free to do whatever since "term" for triplets. I kept them in to the day I was scheduled 35w3d

They took me off of bed rest at 36 weeks. I had one glorious evening of walking around, and then the next morning my water broke :)
