  I started with super easy things we use a lot. Mommy, daddy, milk, more and all done. I make sure to say the word while I sign it simultaneously.  I also make sure to follow it with the thing or action. So if I sign/say milk, I give him his bottle.  If I'm home with him and DH comes home I say "There's daddy" and sign daddy and DH then picks him up. We switch and DH will sign mommy before handing him to me.  We use all done and more while we are doing solids.  As I'm feeding him I ask if he wants more and sign it and offer more food. When I can tell he's full(turning away from the food) I ask if he's all done(usually twice or three times) and then put the food away. 

  
  

  We also watch baby signing time on netflix. He may not fully grasp it yet but he LOVES the songs and gets so excited to watch it.

  That helps a ton! Babysignlanguage.com is where I got my chart from. I started with eat and we've been doing that pretty consistently for a week now. I'll sign it a few times while saying the word and then I'll start feeding him. Not sure if he's really picking up on it or not though lol I play on introducing milk next.   We just did a few with DS1 - more, all done, please and thank you. We started one at a time and just signed it when we said it. He still uses them at 2 years old - they help!!
