My mom had h1n1 flu this year (she turned 43 on Christmas Eve) and was in the hospital for almost a week! I have never seen her so sick in my life. She got her flu shot in October. The flu is so scary this year!
This is extremely sad to hear. But I have a question.... I have heard that if you get the shot that you will most likely get the flu. Does this have some truth to it at all?
Also, I believe H1N1 is a separate flu shot, above and beyond the seasonal shot.
That's is what I thought, but now it is included in the regular shot. You can still get the flu because there are so many strains, but often it is less severe.
Everyone that can should get a flu shot but there are different strains of the flu. You cannot get the flu from the vaccine, you were either already infected or you caught a different strain.
15 people died in CA 4 in the Bay Area the youngest was 23! scares me and I work with children. the babies went home with fevers. please get your flu shot!

Zero truth at all. Flu shot is a dead virus, so it is physiclly incapable of infecting you.
DH and I both got the flu shot when I was in 3rd trimester. DH went to the doctor today and has the flu. They swabbed him (I assume to test for h1n1). Of course (because he's a man and believes he's never actually "sick"), he has had symptoms for several days before I insisted he go to the doctor today. Oh what a lovely weekend trying to keep him somewhat away from LO.

Maybe it does contain it. I may be behind the times.
