Pregnant after a Loss

*Friday* Ticker Change

Happy Friday, ladies! I'm up bright and early this morning thanks to my 3-year-old getting up before the sun. Ahh I miss sleeping in.  I hope everyone had a great week!

January moms, you're getting close! How are you holding up?

PGAL Newbies, please feel free to jump in if your ticker changes to a new week today!

Week/Fruit/EDD:

Updates:

How are you feeling?

QOTW: In honor of American Idol starting this week and not totally sucking thanks to the addition of Harry Connick, Jr., as judge, what song would you use if you were to ever audition for a singing competition (if you're like me and can't sing a lick, just pretend you have a really great voice)?

Have a great weekend, all!

Updates:  Failed my 1 hr glucose test which has me freaking out.  Have been coordinating with my midwives group who are 2.5 hours away to be able to take the 3 hour test locally as well as get an u/s since I was measuring about 4 weeks ahead at this appt.

How are you feeling?  Feeling worried about measuring ahead and the glucose test.  I just want this pregnancy to be as complication free as possible and get to take my rainbow home in april.

How are you feeling? Been feeling good

QOTW: I'd like to think if I could sing I could totally nail a Whitney Houston song like "I Have Nothing." I wouldn't be like those who try out and can't come close to sounding as good as she did, I'd get it right on.

Updates: Well apparently my OB decided she is going on vacation for 2 weeks over my due date so I am a little upset. She knows that I was really adamant that I be comfortable with who delivers my baby, more because of my history. My OB has told me I would not make it to 37 weeks yet here I am. And has told me for 4 weeks I have been dilated to a 2. Yesterday the fill in OB said I wasent even dilated yet. What?!?!? So now I get to see this OB again next week and she thinks I will need to be induced. I lost a little over 2 lbs in the last week and LO movement has decreased so I may need to go in for a NST again. I am starting to get the feeling they are not really listening to me.

How are you feeling? Frustrated and ready for my little girl to make her debut! Although hubby really wants her to be an Aquarius (He is and my father is) so he says she can come Tuesday.

My hubby and I have been together since 2008. Married 5 years in Dec. DX with PCOS and annovulatory hypothalamus. TTC for baby #2 for 10 months BFP on May 29th 2015

I'm sorry, that is nerve wracking. :(  I had to take the 3-hour last time even after passing the 1-hour because they still had concerns and it's not fun. FX you are able to pass and everything looks good on your u/s!

That is extremely frustrating. :(  I don't blame you for being upset. I hope all goes well with the NST.

Awaiting Mat21 test, which will tell us the sex (I might tell you ladies, but we're not telling anyone IRL)

No real updates, but there's a woman in my book club who is 26 wks. Saw her last night, and I was so envious of her bump and the baby moving! I am ready to be further along!

QOTW: I'd have to do an old jazz standard like 'Cry Me a River'

Hmm, I would say "Don't Rain on my Parade" if I had the voice to back it up. Oh Barbara!

Updates: I have a second ultrasound next Thursday at 7w6d! The closer it gets the more anxious I am for it. I just want to know the little one is ok. Our ultrasound last Thursday went great and we got to see and hear a heartbeat which was amazing!

How are you feeling? Sooo nauseous! Luckily not vomiting a lot, just a few times. I just have to force myself to eat. And DH is concerned that I'm not eating enough since I've lost a couple pounds but I keep telling him it's normal!

@hopefulmom88 - Sorry about failing the 1 hour. I'll have my FX for you and the 3 hr. test!!

@lealupins - I would totally want to sing a Whitney song too, but not sure if I could pull it off!

@tink1704 - Sorry your OB isn't going to be around for your delivery and you feel like the new OB isn't listening to you - hope that little girl makes her way soon!! Good luck!!

@2redtulips - I think you should totally spill the beans about the sex of the baby to us ;) Do you have a guess on boy or girl?

@Qfrump - sounds like it's time to maternity pants, so comfy...

@theatrestar86 - Sorry you are feeling crappy, but good news on the GD test.

@funnybunny - Sounds like you are almost ready for your little guy to arrive, very exciting!

@doglover31 - Waiting for those first ultra sounds are tough. I have my first on the 31st and it can't come soon enough. My OB offered to draw betas until then, just to put my mind at ease, but I think I'm going to just stick it out until the 31st..

@bookshelves - sounds like your little one could be here at anytime!! Wonder if you'll make it to next week's check-in :)

Updates:  Had my first OB appointment on Tuesday. My OB wouldn't give me an early u/s to check for a heartbeat, but offered to do betas to ease my mind...I think I'm going to pass and wait until my first u/s on 1/31....

How are you feeling?  I'm feeling fine, which is great as I felt fine when I was pregnant with DD, but of course it's hard to keep my PgAL brain at ease...

QOTW: In honor of American Idol starting this week and not totally sucking thanks to the addition of Harry Connick, Jr., as judge, what song would you use if you were to ever audition for a singing competition (if you're like me and can't sing a lick, just pretend you have a really great voice)?

I have a decent voice and won some karaoke contests in my day :P I would probably sing 'Oh Darling' by the Beatles because I love singing that song and I'm good at it....I would love to sing a Whitney song, but my voice isn't that good...

***I have a serious question - is having a kid pic in my siggy okay on PgAL, I didn't see anything posted about it, so I assume it's okay, but I also can't see anyone else's siggy, so I don't know if it's okay...thanks***
Edited to remove extra stuff that somehow attached to the bottom of my update..

Updates:  I had an appointment on Tuesday.  Just like every appointment, this one didn't go smoothly.  I went into it with a bit of a stomach bug. I had thrown up the night before (the only time I threw up) and I tried to drink a ton of water, but knew I'd be dehydrated.  The doctor couldn't find Viviana with the doppler.  My heart was beating so loudly, and when she looked on the u/s, it turned out Viviana was hiding behind one of my arteries or something.  Even knowing where she was, she couldn't get past the loud sound of my beating, so she couldn't get the doppler to register her heartbeat.

She could see it moving though, so she did a manual count.  Viviana never holds still, so she tried a bunch of times, and always got between 180 and 200, which is of course too high.  So in the end, we just had to leave it at knowing there was one of 3 options.  1.  Her counts were off because Viviana wouldn't hold still.  2.  Viviana wasn't handling my dehydration well and it was making her heart rate higher (similar to my own).  3.  There's something wrong with her heart.

She gave me a prescription for Zofran and told me to hydrate, and not to let myself throw up again.  Luckily that was the last day of my stomach bug so I haven't had to take it and haven't had any more problems.  And then because my a/s is in 2 weeks (on the 31st) she said they would double check the heart, and if anything seemed wrong we'd get a fetal echo.

How are you feeling?  I am feeling resigned to the fact that this is just not going to be an easy pregnancy, and I'm just not going to feel at ease.  I used my doppler last night, and her heartrate was back down around 145, which made me feel better.  I have decided to not assume the worst - there is every reason to think that my dehydration was the whole problem, and since that is under control I am going with the thought that she is probably fine.  I have started feeling her more often, which helps me.  I am ready for my a/s, now both to double check on her heart and to tell me if my placenta has moved so I don't have placenta previa anymore.

QOTD : That's a tough one.  When I sing along to the radio in the car I often think about whether the song I'm singing would work in an American Idol audition, but I haven't come up with the perfect one :)

  • Hey ladies! Its been a while . . been busy I guess! So here we go!

    Week/Fruit/EDD: Week 30 today! Cabbage/cucumber. March 28th.

Team: Its a girl, but we prefer purple in our house ;-)

Updates: Had a good check up yesterday. Haven't dilated any more from the last check up thankfully. Baby girl is def getting stronger - her kicks are crazy, but I love it. Gonna be a soccer player like her parents I think ;-) We have our first baby shower this Saturday - I'm excited and yet nervous. Keep having dreams no one shows up. But my mom is on her way into town so even if no one DOES come, it'll still be fun with the hosts and her to hang out for a few hours. All I care about really is getting in some good time with my girlfriends, so I'm sure it'll be great either way!

How are you feeling? Sleep is getting harder - hips hurt from side sleeping and added weight strain I suppose. Breathing can be difficult too - all normal I know, but just awkward. Sigh. 10 more weeks . . . I can make it.

QOTW: In honor of American Idol starting this week and not totally sucking thanks to the addition of Harry Connick, Jr., as judge, what song would you use if you were to ever audition for a singing competition (if you're like me and can't sing a lick, just pretend you have a really great voice)?  Oh lord. Never even given this a thought  .  .  .  . and I've got no idea. I've got too much stage fright to even think about auditioning for something like this! Haha. Call me chicken!

Team: 2 weeks till we know!

UpdatesBiggest update this week is feeling the baby kick every single day, multiple times a day. After a few weeks of flutters, I felt it kick from the outside at 16w2d and my husband got to feel it at 17w2d. So, so awesome. This is just the best thing ever and I’m incredibly grateful to have that reassurance! My anxiety is way down as a result. Worried? Wait a few hours I’ll feel Little Foot poking me.

How are you feeling? I like food again, but it’s still tricky sometimes. Like the morning my husband first got to feel the baby kick, I promptly ran to the bathroom to throw up because I hadn’t taken a unisom and got hungry and, well, I guess I’m not 100% yet. Sleepier than normal, too. But mostly good! Just happy.

What song would you use if you were to ever audition for a singing competition? Uh, Roar by Katy Perry because it's my favorite song to sing lately. But I am the worst singer ever. So that won't be happening!

  • @amwangel -  Thanks.  It's been a rough road, but I know it could be so much worse, so I'm just thankful she's still in there with a beating heart.     It's so exciting that you can feel baby from the outside!  I've put H's hand on my belly a few times to see if he can feel yet, but nothing strong enough so far.  You must have a strong little one in there!!

But today the baby has been lazier, so OF COURSE I'm all, "OH NO WHAT IS WRONG WHY ISN'T MOVING POKE POKE POKE." Ah, PGAL crazy never stops!
