Homestudy Postponed

So, the government agency made a decision. They want to use the home study from the private agency that we haven't definitively decided to go through. We have been on the waiting list for nearly a year for this government home study, and now they think we are a waste of their time. I understand where they are coming from, trying to reduce duplication of work, but it is frustrating. And it puts extra pressure on us to make a decision faster, and to go through the private agency which has a high cost. If we had the home study done by the government, we could let it sit for a while and see if we get any results before we decide to delve into the expensive route of the private agency. And, we are starting over at the beginning with the private agency, so the light at the end of the tunnel that we have been waiting for so long, just got pushed farther away.

Re: Homestudy Postponed

  • What if you decided to just go through the government? Would they start now?

  • I hope so. Otherwise, we would be back at the bottom of the waiting list, and it took us nearly a year to get to the top last time. But, I think because we have been assigned a home study writer, that we would still be on her list until we get things sorted out.
