Baby girl made her grand debut!

At 40+3 I woke up at 0220 with my first contraction. I got up and timed them while letting hubby sleep since he just got home only an hr earlier. Around 0300 I had some bloody show and decided it was time to wake him up and call the midwife! My midwife wanted me to come straight in because she could tell by my voice things were progressing fast and we had a good drive ahead of us. We got to the birthing center at 0420 and baby Kelsey was here 17 minutes later at 0437! From first contraction to birth was 2hrs and 17min! She was born on 1-16-14 at 0437 and was 20.5 inches and 8lbs4oz!

What a Dream birth !! Amazing . Really happy for you. Congratulation . Is this your first baby ?? Hope I will have a similar birth story to tell.. I am 40w 1d today

Congratulations, complete stranger. I am truly happy that you chose to share your adorable squish with all of us along with your amazingly short labor.

Disclaimer- only the stranger part was meant to be snarky, I am never opposed to baby pictures. I'd just be more excited if I had more time invested in learning about said squish.

Of course everyone is happy for a woman with a new baby, but announcing on a board that you haven't been a part of is like going into the middle of a crowded city street and yelling that you had a baby to strangers. People I am sure are happy for you, but its strange, because they don't know you. KWIM?

Sure I see your point as well. I understand what you saying . I Just thought cose we are all dealing with pregnancies overhere it's sort of more "acceptable " to just jump in. Anyway let's HOPE we can all report easy birth stories. I am ever so frightened this time round. My last one took forever .... I know I know It was my decision to go for it !!!!!! @Esthi -- Ok.... but did she show any support to me, out of curiosity? (That's a rhetorical question. The answer is no.) And in fact, after further review, I recalled that I went out of my way to try to include her in the gift exchange because she wanted to become more of a part of the community (her words, not mine) and against my better judgment, I included her. And she never signed up. By no means, did she have to -- but why ask for an invite and then not do it? Other than that, she has never spoken a word to me. So by all accounts, I'd say that I was much more supportive of her than she ever was of me.

Once you've been around longer, you'll understand why these posts are annoying.

And I was nice anyway.

Hi sorry did not have online access the past 24 hours... That's why I reply late !! First of all how are things with you and your precious precious son?? Hope you starting to get back to your pre pregnancy state , and feel better very soon . ( personally I have forgotten what it's like to feel "normal") I was by no means attacking you. Honestly !! I know in those post you can't hear the other ones voice ( which in my case was just really not meant to be an aggressive voice at all...) it was just a question that I asked . Cose as I said , I suffered with you when you had such a hard time, even though I just "know " you from this board , and not in person. Don't even know in which country you live!! But I read your answer to me, and do see your point as well, and can now understand better why you think the way you do . Ok look after your self. Enjoy the weekend. Will keep you updated when my LO arrives....

@ peanutmuse: very Good to hear! That gives me hope to get there eventually . Maybe things have started to move on a little by me ... Not quite sure yet.., but terribly frightened of contraction pains!! So looking forward to be after birth.
