Teeth Grinding?

DD is 13.5 months, and currently has 6 teeth (all of which have come in the last 2 months).  Two or three weeks ago, she started to grind her teeth and I can't stand it - it gives me the chills constantly!  She had her 12 month well check right after she started doing it, and the nurse said "it's normal, they usually grow out of it pretty fast."  How fast should it be going away?  I'm afraid she's going to damage her teeth!  Anyone else have a grinder?

    Yep! DD is 15 months and recently started doing this- she also has 6 teeth( 4 on top & 2 on bottom). I think she has more coming in on top & that could be why she does it or it's a new thing for her & she likes my reaction. She usually does it when we are in the car when she is trying to get my attention. I hope it ends really soon!

    DD does it all the time...it truly is a horrible sound. Most of the time, if we give her something to chew on, she'll get occupied by that and stop.

    Yup, at 15 months dd started grinding her teeth and it was the WEIRDEST noise and freaked me a out a little. Lasted about 2 weeks and she hasn't done it in about 3 weeks.

    My experience has been the same as other mamas... my daughter (who is 17 months) did it for a couple of weeks a few months ago, and hasn't done it since.
