Feeling frustrated.

Are any of your LO's going through a phase where nothing makes them happy? I am at a loss what to do. I feel as soon as LO wakes up, he's instantly cranky. I feed him, play with him, snuggle him, read to him...and he still fusses and screams. This has been going on for about 2 weeks now. He goes to daycare and I asked if he has been acting the same way there. They say he is a happy baby when he is there. He plays with the other kids and it doesn't seem to be an issue.

At first, I thought that maybe he was getting sick. But he seems just fine. Nothing out of the ordinary. What are your thoughts? Just a phase?

Re: Feeling frustrated.

  • Do you notice any difference during the day on weekends when he's with you? It might just be mornings and evenings are his cranky times, especially if he's teething. We just came out of a screaming/nothing makes him happy phase, and now he's back to my happy boy. He was sick and cutting 4 molars at once. I didn't notice when his crankiest times were because I SAH. But it could be time of day coupled with a teething nightmare?

  • Yeah, I was wondering teeth as well. I haven't notices much poling through yet. It's possible that a couple may be peeking through here soon. Hoping that's all it is.
  • I use to go right in and get ds as soon as he was awake and pick him right up and he was a CRANKY pants.  Now I wait a little before going in then I talk/play with him while he is in the crib, then I pick him up and he is far less cranky.

  • I feel like Ashley always wants to be out of the house. She doesn't want to play with any of her toys and would rather just into other things. I go out at least twice a day just to get us out of the house (plus I have to run errands) or else she seems to get bored and fussy, even when I try to think of a fun game to play. Even just walking to the park and letting her run all over her mood is way better.

I have noticed this too. He enjoys being out of the house. He loves going to the grocery store. He flirts with all the little old ladies, they love it. :)
