Seriously? I have never heard it at all, but when I was skimming through names on a site (not sure which one), it said its popularity is rising extremely fast. If it's not actually popular, that's a different story.
I have two friends who recently named their babies Lena, both live out of state and I have literally never seen either child. In my area, I don't know of any. I don't hate it, don't love it... Not really sure what the appeal is I guess I but wouldn't side-eye it or think of it as overly popular.

Like everyone has already said, Lena is lovely and it really isn't popular. A friend of mine is named Leana (pronounced lean-ah) and that's very similar. Lena also reminds me of Lila and Layla, but both of those are more common than Lena.
How do you personally pronounce it ? I say it "Len-Uh" but I work with all Greeks and thats their pronunciation of it . I have also heard "Lee-Nuh" either way, I lovee this name .
Love it! I know one Lena, so I don't think it's too popular. My daughter is Kathleen, and I wanted to call her Lena, but DH vetoed, so she goes by Kate mostly.
Re: Lena
It's a bit more popular than it has been before, but nothing to worry about I don't think.
