Dad Version of Yoga Pants

I just asked my, usually stylish, husband why he's been wearing shorts with tennis shoes everywhere lately. I was genuinely curious.

He said, "because it's comfortable and easy".

I said, "it must be the dad version of yoga pants."

He agreed.

Have you noticed a change in your SO's style?

Re: Dad Version of Yoga Pants

  • I live in track pants city over here. And holy tshirts have become common also.

  • @kwrecks lol! My stepdad did that. It was so embarrassing.

At home we both pretty much just wear pajamas. I just realized we'll have to change that once DD starts having friends over.

  • H usually wears his work clothes (carhartts and Tshirt) or just jeans and a shirt. Nothing special

This. Although that being said, there were a few times in the beginning when the shirts would be backwards/inside out.

DH wears pj pants and no shirt.. Sounds like he'd fit in just fine with your two SOs :-)

  • Mine actually changed for the better.. Anytime we go out now he wears a nice golf polo, jeans, khakis or khaki shorts. He says he wants to look like a respectable dad. Lol. It's kinda sexy!

  • If we're in the house he's wearing basketball shorts and some type of promotional tshirt (blood donation shirts, random freebies).

He's insanely stylish when he gets dressed to go out but at home... I always tease him because some shirts are so ridiculous. Like his "slap my ass and call me Sally" shirt from Tijuana Flats.

    My baby is ONE!!

  • No. He's very well dressed. His idea of dressing down is his "baseball cap look" which is nice jeans, t shirt and a cap. He has stayed consistent (thank God).

All of this and then add to it that getting DH to shop for new clothes is pretty much my equivalent of going to Auto Zone. Meaning- unless something is broken/has a gaping hole in it, it's not gonna happen.

  • T-shirts and jeans are DH' s staple. I've been able to get him to dress "nicer" when we go out in public but even then it is a struggle.

He doesn't really care about his appearance and he is a scientist/engineer kind of guy so he can be casual at work.

Despite his lack of style, I still love him. Hehe.

DH is a cop. So he's in a full uniform, bulletproof vest and a 20lb belt most days.

He changes into pajama pants and promotional t shirt as soon as he gets home. I joke with him that he has never bought a t shirt in his life! And why would you, when blood drives and sports events give them away...(in his opinion!)

He's a jeans guy. I don't blame him. When he's not working he prefers comfort over fashion. But still manages to look handsome in his casual duds. :-/

This except at home then he wears his basketball shorts and a white tee.
  • DH does well outside if the house. We are both in the whatever is comfortable group at home. Me: yoga pants and a tank or sports bra, DH: tank undershirt and shorts. But his shirts are actually decent.

  • DH has zero sense of style. I've gotten rid of most of his ridiculous stuff over the years so he no longer looks like a total slob when he leaves the house. He can wear whatever he wants once he's home, though, which is usually lounge pants and a random t-shirt.

  • Nope he still dresses the same. SO has always mostly worn basketball shorts and tennis shoes. He's laid off right now because of winter but during work he wears jeans and work boots.
