We have recently decided to use a birthing center rather then hospital. This my first bun, but #5 for hubby. The plan has always been all natural and I am going to be seeing the same RN, Doula, and mid-wives that will be there for delivery as each monthly appt. So I honestly don't see many cons.

Lurking is hard.
Done. I am having my baby at a hospital with a midwife, however from what I hear I basically get whichever midwife is on call and not necessarily the one that I see at all my appointments. I chose this because it will cost me a total of $250 out of pocket instead of $6,000 that it cost us last time. It's like when something is on sale, I think I need it more. This baby delivery is on sale.

I'm not new. I just hate The Bump.
I'll pretend this is @eltrain5's thread instead. I'll be at a hospital. I don't know of any birthing centers around me otherwise I would consider. We are pretty hospital happy around here with The Cleveland Clinic. They pretty much own northeast Ohio.

gonna end up delivering at the hospital, since they have tubs for labor and delivery and a level 4 nicu just in case. Same midwives and doulas. Just different setting. This might change if my hypnobabies convinces me I won't need an epidural...which is also a reason I'm hesitant to commit to the birth center. Considering I yelled out "I'm getting an epidural" at the chiropractors today during muscles manipulation....my confidence in my pain tolerance is waning. Plus the hospital has a "lullaby" button for dads to press when the baby is born, that plays a lullaby throughout the hospital. And that's just adorable.

I plan to give birth at a hospital, the same hospital where I gave birth to DD and had a fabulous experience.
The plan has always included drugs and I'm going to be seeing the same midwife at my delivery as at each monthly appointment. I also get to see a staff of wonderful RNs and doctors that, like I said, were amazing with my first birth experience. Plus there's a Jimmy John's across that street that delivers to my room. So I honestly don't see many cons.
