Hoarse baby

I know he isn't really talking- but when B was babbling tonight, it sounds really hoarse and raspy. The babysitter said she noticed it late in the afternoon- so it's been going on a little while. Has anyone experienced this? What should I do? He is still acting normal, he just sounds really pathetic! Thanks!!

Around Thanksgiving J was hoarse for no reason. Wasn't sick, acting sick or being particularly chatty (more than normal) It went away after a few days. He had recently learned he could screetch at a high decibel but it wasnt like he was screetching constantly. I say the hoarse voice lasted about three days. It was also a bit dry in the house... Possibly a combination? I too would just keep an eye and check w Dr if any additional symptoms come up or it does not get better.

  • I don't think there's much you can do. DD had a cold and was hoarse for about 3 weeks. It sucked because she could be laying beside me and screaming her head off and I wouldn't even notice it until I looked at her.

If it doesn't seem like he is in pain I wouldn't worry too much.

  • Thanks everyone! I tried the sippy cup with water- he was not feeling it. He's a little extra clingy, so I'll just keep an eye on him. Thanks again ladies.
