So after having a simple and easy induced labor I am really wanting a natural birth for my 2nd and last baby. Any advice?? And anyone in here do hypnobabies or anything similar??
I just got the home study course for hypnobabies. I've heard really good things, and I figure it can't hurt! have you considered hiring a doula? Having someone there to coach you through it I'm sure would help too...they help with pain management, pushing techniques, etc.
Edit: to add, I also looking into hypnobirthing, actually my midwives offer a class on it, but after reading a lot of reviews/comparisons, it basically seems like a watered down/somewhat less effective version of hypnobabies, so I'm going with the latter.
I read about the hypnobirth and really don't think I would be able to relax while in labor. I birthed DD all natural with no medications and know how much it hurts. I'm scared to death this time. I'll look more into it, I heard that labors without medication are much faster anyway(mine was under 3 hours).. Not sure what I should do this time.
With DD I did the hyponbirthing book and CD. I was very sceptical but it worked. I was in labor for about 24 hours and only the last 20 minutes or so were in any way painful and I attribute that to getting checked in and plugged in at the hospital. We were only there for the last 20 minutes because my ob kept saying if you can talk through the contractions its not labor.....
ElTrain5 Where did you get the home study from? I tried their website but every time it takes me to a page that says "source not found" etc.
Joules linked to the official site where u can buy it. It's also available on amazon and sometimes used ones are on eBay. I got a used copy from someone on the natural birth board
I had a negative experience with interventions and medication with my first birth. I'll be doing hypnobabies home study this time. I'm excited! As others have said, moms who have used both will say that hypnobabies is much more complete and helpful than hypnobirthing.
Hi! I have one child, delivered naturally at a birth center using Hypnobabies... I had a VERY long labor (baby was posterior and born with his arm on his face) and I don't know how I would of done it without Hypnobabies. I took a local course (hubby loved it, too!) and not only do you learn the hypnosis and relaxation techniques but half of the class is pregnancy, birth and newborn knowledge.. SO much good info!! I will definitely be doing Hypnobabies again.
Re: Hypnobabies/hypnobirthing..yes or no?
