Hello Mums! My DD is now 17 weeks old and has been nursing like a champ. Just this last week, she caught a slight cold. Her chest is clear but its her nasal passages that are a little irritated. She does not need suctioning and is having no breathing issues. She does cough occasionally. The problem is all of a sudden, she wont feed for more than 5-7 mins (down from 15 to 20min) and my breasts do not feel empty. She just turns her head away from the breast and gets super mad if I persist.
She is waking a LOT more at night and feeding some (not very well I think). I cant pump more than 3oz in the morning now (used to be 5oz!). She used to nap like a champ and wake only once or twice at night. She has been sucking madly on her fists and drooling and wont take her fingers out of her mouth.... I think I am missing her hunger cues because of this. Tonight she screamed and screamed and I tried to offer her the boob but she wouldnt take it! I finally sat in our recliner chair and held her close and managed to pop the boob in and she fed and fed and passed out. Thisvroutine is becoming the norm, Is this 4 month sleep regression?
I dont know what is going on! All advice is welcome. I am afraid of losing my supply as I need to get to the six month ebf mark! Its a goal I MUST accomplish. She doesnt take a bottle at all so losing supply would be a disaster. Please share your thoughts!
