Trouble TTC

intro (losses mentioned)

Hi all,

I'm so sorry you are all here...but I'm so happy to have found this board.

I've been posting over at TCAL (so some of you who are also there will already know me) but I wanted to intro here too, since I fit 3T and have been stalking it so much that I should probably just intro. :)

I'm 38. I had a blighted ovum in 2010.  Stopped trying between 2010 and 2011. This round, I have been off BC since March/April 2012  and really TTC since November 2012.  During that time, we had a MMC at 10 weeks (that was this past December).  I finally met with an RE last Monday. After the initial consult, she performed a hysteroscopy, to remove some polyps. I was also told that I have MTHFR so am on massive doses of Methyl Folate and b6/12.   I'm going to be getting more test results in two weeks, and will be starting Clomid next month.

I'm choosing to be optimistic, but some days are really hard.

I'm not happy to be here, but I'm happy to be here. You know what I mean.  :)

Me:Hypothyroid DH: Type II diabetic. Together since 03/2007, Married 10/2011, D/C bc 10/2011. TTC: 11/2011. Charted BBT and CV along with OPK 10/2011-02/2012 Baseline labs 02/2012 WNL, SA 03/2012: botched sample by lab - destroyed hubby's confidence. 04/2012 Clomid 05/2012 Clomid 06/2012 Clomid 07/2012 Clomid and Ovidrel 08/2012 Ovidrel (I never knew that I was supposed to be monitored while on meds...I never was. I asked for u/s and other tests to see why we weren't getting pregnant, doc just kept giving me meds and telling me to go to his church for a "laying of hands") Stopped all monitoring/testing/temps, etc, Sex became a chore and we started to grow apart. At 12 mos I decided to look for another doc. 02/2013 consult with new doc....3 days later testing began...u/s, all good, HSG: all good, labs: all good, ovulating, etc. Started on Pregnitude. 04/2013 failed attempt for SA, 05/2013 failed attempt SA. 12/2013 SA: 3% morph, abnormal functionality. • gsancho mthfr (yes, many women ttc totally call it motherf----er!!!)  is a genetic mutation which makes it hard for me to break down and absorb folic acid and other B vitamins.  Uh, not so great if you're trying to get pg and grow a baby!  I only found out a few weeks ago, after combing through my raw DNA data and spending hours on Dr.Google.  I asked my RE to specifically test me for it, and well, I have it.   The treatment is taking massive doses of bio-available Methyl Folate (what your body breaks folic acid down into,) and also large doses of B12 and B6.  I basically take vitamins all day long. :)  MTHFR also is suspected to cause recurrent miscarriage...though that is still up for debate.  Some women with MTHFR, with recurrent MC are put on blood thinners to fix clotting disorders...but that also depends on homocysteine levels and some other stuff. My RE is waiting on some other tests to come back before she decides how I will be treated when I get KU again.  (Like how I say "when" not "if"? Trying to be optimistic!)  It's hard to say whether MTHFR caused my MCs or not...since I had frigging polyps in my ute on top of all of that...but I'm happy that at least, now, it has been identified and is being treated.   Ok, now  you know more about MTHFR than you ever wanted to know!  :)
