Hi everyone! I am 39 and have 2 boys, 17 and 6. The father of my first son passed away when my son was only 6 and the father of my 2nd son moved out of state 3 years ago. I've met the most wonderful man and we have been 2 get her almost 3 yrs. we will be getting married soon. He has 3 kids that are grown and one six yr old son also. We want 2 have one more child together but I'm afraid it may not be possible. I haven't went to the dr yet. Unfortunately, I have had to have two c- sections, I had gestational diabetes with my second child and had my tubes tied after that pregnancy. If my tuba ligation can't be reversed, I would like to try invitro. I may sound crazy to consider this, but I really love this man and have always wanted to try for a girl. He is an excellent father! Has anyone else had a successful pregnancy after having their tubes tied or gestational diabetes?

    I can't answer your question, but I wanted to wish you luck. 

    I think there's a board for ttc after 35, so you might want to check in there as well.

    Welcome and best of luck!

    I do not have GD, but my SIL had it through both of her pregnancies, and several of her friends experienced the same thing (GD positive during multiple pregnancies). I've never heard of GD as a contraindication of fertility, although I can't say I'm well read on the subject. 

    AMA & SAIF. TTC #1 since Oct. 2010. DX: Unexplained. BFP on break after 32 months trying and 2 med cycles. Baby girl born at 40w0d!

    I had a tubal reversal 10 yrs after I had my last. I'm now pregnant with the 2nd after the reversal. I was told my tubes were blocked and would have to do In-vitro but did get pregnant on our own. The second needed a bit of help to happen.

    best of luck and happiness to you in your journey.  I'd suggest going to the ttc over 35 board as those ladies can be with you while you journey to your + test!

    I had my tubes tied in 2003 and now 13 weeks pregnant from IVF.  I wish I would have done a reversal but had not heard of any success stories so I went ahead with IVF and got my BFP on my 1st try.  Good luck!
